"This app, however, is nothing short of brilliant, easy to use and printing sensible labels."
"This app certainly takes the pain out of producing your Christmas and other lists. A lot of thought has gone into this truly excellent product."
"This is a superb program and does what it says simply and efficiently. The developer responds promptly to suggestions. Importing Contacts works well and changes are instantly carried through. My cards have never been sent out so early!"
"I love how this app has streamlined addressing my Christmas cards!! Thank you!!"
"AddressLabels delivers an extremely effective way to manage card lists which means the ability to easily compose lists from your Contacts, get the labels printed, and keep track of cards received and sent! Add the ability to manually enter list members, assign nicknames, select from multiple addresses, intelligent handling the country portion of the address, accommodate a large range of label types, AirPrint directly or produce a PDF of the labels, clone new lists from existing lists, all wrapped in a visually pleasing interface. Winner!"
"I hate addressing my Christmas cards. This app made it very easy to make labels. I don't have a printer that works with my iPad yet, so I really appreciated having the capability to send them as a PDF to my email address. The app is awesome..."
“Just what you need at this time of year - a reliable self updating list to speed up sending out cards. This is the 3rd or 4th year I've used it and it just gets better and better.”
“After years of tearing my hair out trying to get labels out of my iphone/iPad/iMac combo, an app that actually does what it promised!”
Address Labels & Envelopes 7.86 Update
2024-02-26
An earlier version of Address Labels showed the label borders on the screen preview. This should only have appeared on the screen preview, but unfortunately some people were also seeing the borders when printing their labels. At that time, the feature was removed.
The feature is now being re-introduced and hopefully will work better now i.e. will only show the borders on the screen preview.

Many users had problems printing their label sheets once they had upgraded their device to iOS 17. The labels pdf file was getting scaled down resulting in the text not lining up with the actual labels. This version gets around that problem and should now print successfully.
7.80 2023-11-14
Made an improvement to sorting names, where the last name is made up of more than one part.
This arose from a request from one of the app's users who had several Dutch names in her list e.g. "Van Smit". Previously this would have been sorted as "Smit" and not "Van Smit".
So now, if the name came from Contacts, and has not been changed within the app, it will sort on the last name (or first name) as it appears in Contacts.
7.73 2023-11-09
Fixed a bug where the app would crash when tapping the Print button in the iOS Print Preview. The labels would print successfully, but the app itself was crashing.
It looks like this started to happen from iOS 17.1 onwards.
7.72 2023-10-03
There is a setting for the List Summary display which allows you to show a status summary header at the top. The switch for this was not being shown on the Settings screen. It is now shown.
7.67 2023-08-01
You can now sort lists by Company (Organisation) name.
7.66 2023-05-23
App allows numbers to be added to the end of a name, without it affecting the Last Name sorting.
This was requested by someone who was using the app for a wedding meal table plan where the appropriate table number was being added to the end of each name.
7.65 2023-04-01
The List Summary can now show the card status and/or the received status.
The List Summary can now be double-spaced so that there is a gap between entries.
The Completed status tick has been changed as the current one is not very clear in dark mode.
Some improvements made when Sorting list names. This was primarily to cope with names which had some extra information in brackets after the name, which applied to at least one user.
Other efficiency changes primarily on startup.
7.64 2023-01-12
Fixed a bug when sorting on birthday - problem occurred if birthday was Jan 1st with no birth-year entered.
Added support for Avery 3658 and 5159 labels.
Custom envelope dimensions can now be entered in imperial or metric labels.
Envelope Preview for custom envelope now shows the custom envelope size.
List summary can now include the card status summary (e.g. number of cards/stamps) at the top of the summary.
List summary will also show a name from Contacts in bracket after the alias name i.e. where the name for the labels has been changed from that which appears in Contacts.
Fixed bug where nickname was not getting imported correctly from a csv file.
Nickname is now exported as part of the csv export feature.
7.60 2022-10-18
Improved search - now looks for search text in addresses as well as names.
Improved importing from Contacts display - shows the complete address rather than just the first line of the address.
You can now sort the lists based on the "Check Address" flag i.e. names with addresses that you have flagged to have their address checked, can be shown at the top, making it much easier to go through the addresses which need to be double-checked.
Added support for the Dymo 99012 label type.
7.50 2022-04-21
Many changes made to make the app more accessible using VoiceOver.
For all users who do use the app using VoiceOver, if you find any problems with the VoiceOver information, please contact the developer on support@ios.addresslabels.app so that the app can be further improved.
7.41 2022-02-19
Improvement to manual sorting of list. When you select Manual Sort, you now get two choices for the initial order for the manually sorted list. You can select to have the list initially sorted in the same way as it is currently ordered, or you can get it to revert to the last order when it was manually sorted. For example, suppose the list is currently sorted on last name. When you select Manual Sort, you cap opt to have the list starting off as it is currently i.e. same order as Last Name sort. You can then tweak the order by moving just the names you want to a different order. If you then change the sort to say First Name sort, maybe temporarily, and then later select Manual Sort, you can then select to order the list in the way it was last manually sorted e.g. as Last Name but with a few tweaks.
Improved the search facility when importing from Contacts. Previously you had to type in part/all of a first name, OR part/all of last name. If you typed the first name with a space afterwards, it did not find it (as the first names in the list would not contain that space). Now the app looks in the full name for the contact (as well as the nickname if used) to find the person you want.
7.40 2022-01-24
The app name has changed to Address Labels & Envelopes, to match up with the corresponding app on the Mac app store.
To be honest, the changes made are more to help the developer maintain the app.
There is a new Help page with a button to allow users to share a link to the app on the App Store. You can now tell friends and family about the app. Spreading the work will be a great help to the developer.
There is also a new "Support the Developer" screen which allows donations to be made to help the developer maintain the app. Previously you could only tip the developer once. Now you can tip the app as often as you would like. These donations will be a great help to the developer and very much appreciated.
7.33 2022-01-09
A recent update caused an issue with an existing label type - the 8195 which has 15 rows of 4 labels. The problem resulted in producing 5 rows of 4!
This has hopefully now been fixed.
Sorry for any problems that this might have caused.
7.20 2021-10-19
Added support for L7654 label.
You can now export the names and addresses in a list to a csv file (by long-pressing on the list name).
7.12 2021-08-26
Added support for Avery 3427 labels.
Added partial support for Avery 8293 round labels. Partial in that label info is printed in a square area inside the circle and therefore does not make full use of the circle area.
Fixed bugs with the A4 3x2 and 11x4 label implementations.
6.74 2020-12-29
I had some requests to support some more A4 label types, so have added support for the following:
Avery 3474, Avery 3489, Avery L4787 and Herma 4475.
As well as selecting the label via the sheet size/label size/labels per sheet, you can now select by Avery-type code.
6.73 2020-12-11
Improvements made to the csv import allowing it to be more flexible with user's data format.
Fixed a problem when printing a batch of envelopes where the return address positioning could drift (depending on settings used).
Note - IAP required for envelope printing.
6.72 2020-11-30
Fixed a problem when run in dark-mode where the return address was not getting printed on the envelope.
6.71 2020-11-13
Added support for Avery 5266 and 5388 labels.
Fixed a problem with importing a csv file which had been saved with ascii encoded text.
Labels now supported include:
Letter sized sheets:
5126,5155,5160,5161,5162,5163,5164,5165,5167,5168,5195,5260,5261,5262,5263,5264,5265,5267,5311,5314,5332,5334,5351,5353,5354,5360,5363,5523,5262,5263,5264,5265,5267,5311,5314,5332,5334,5351,5353,5354,5360,5363,5523,5262,5263,5264,5265,5266,5267,5311,5314,5332,5334,5351,5353,5354,5360,5363,5388,5523,6430,6462,6464,6465,6467,6468,6470,6499,6504,6520,6523,6524,6575,6790,8126,8160,8161,8162,8163,8164,8165,8167,8168,8195,8253,8254,8255,8363,8460,8461,8462,8463,8464,8563,8564,8660,8663,8667,8867,8923,8986,8987,15264,1553,15563,15660,15663,15664,15667,15695,15700,15960,16460,16790,18160,18163,18167,18195,18260,18294,18660,18663,18664,18667,18695,18863,28660,32660,38260,38363,38667,38863,42895,45005,45008,45160,45464,48160,48163,48260,48263,48264,48267,48335,48360,48363,48460,48463,48464,48467,48860,48863,48864,48867,48960,55160,55163,55164,55463,55464,58163,58164,58264,85563,88695,94202,94208,95900,95905,95930.

6.70 2020-11-08
You can now use one font for the name and a different font for the address.
Similarly, the name and address can have different colors.
For envelope printing (IAP needed for envelopes), the return address can use a different font/color from the main address font/color.
Also, the text size for the return address can be set (previously you could limit its maximum size).
You can also reposition the envelope return address by shifting horizontally/vertically.
6.61 2020-06-10
Minor bug fix - the Print and Share buttons were not visible on the Preview screen when returning from changing the settings. This is now fixed.
6.60 2020-05-26
Added the ability to move the position of the address on envelopes horizontally and/or vertically.
6.42 2020-05-06
Fixed an issue where names imported from Contacts were being displayed in White in dark-mode. This was fine when there was no background image, but very difficult to see if there was a background.
6.41 2020-04-26
Just a small change. Some users wanted the birthday, displayed in a list or on labels/envelopes, to include the day, but not the year. Other users wanted it to include the year but not the day.
There are now new settings allowing you to include day and or year, as desired, for both the table of names and on the labels and envelopes.
6.31 2020-02-02
Fixed issue where if Birthday was saved in Contacts, this showed one day out in AddressLabels, in some time zones.
Improvements to csv file imports.
Names imported from csv files from now on will be displayed in green text (manually typed blue and from Contacts in black).
6.30 2020-01-25
Can now import spreadsheet .csv files (see note below).
Although the app has always allowed you to change the name on the list/label/envelope to anything you want, you can now use the person's nickname if you prefer.
Can now print the person's Company before the person's name.
The area used on envelopes for the address has been enlarged so that the font size can be larger.
The return address on envelopes can be printed on one line.
The return address text height on the envelopes can now be adjusted.
CSV Imports: It is important that the spreadsheet file has titles at the top of each column. AddressLabels will try to create names and addresses from the various columns, based on these titles. As everyone can have different titles, there is a chance that AddressLabels will occasionally get this wrong. If so, and the name and address imported are incorrect, please get in touch with the developer at support@ios.addresslabels.app with details of the way your file is constructed. The developer will then endeavour to modify the app to work with your file, as soon as possible/
6.20 2020-01-02
Now possible to delete someone from the database (as opposed to just removing them from a list).
Changes to device Settings: a) HandDelivered card can be set to not have a label created. b) You can now use a Persons's company name for the labels/envelopes rather than their own name.

5.31 2019-05-02
Added a link on the Help screen to a Quick Guide Tutorial on the app's website.
Fixed a problem where occasionally the keyboard for entering a card name did not show punctuation characters such as '&'.
5.30 2019-04-30
Major update with numerous enhancements - thanks for all of the suggestions.
1) New list types - Birthdays, Wedding and Baby Shower.
2) Much improved Sorting options, including Birthday date, making the birthday list really useful.
3) Each list can now have a different label image e.g. Christmas icon on your Christmas list, wedding image on your Wedding list etc.
4) Accessibility improvements for voiceover.
5) The list display can now show much more information - address, phone numbers, email addresses and birthday.
6) Similarly, what can be printed on the labels is now not just name and address, but also phone numbers, email addresses, company and extra information.
7) There is now the option to print multiple labels for a single person in a list.
8) More than one copy of a list can be printed to labels. This is especially good for short lists allowing the label sheet to used completely.
9) New and improved settings screens for the list display, labels and list summary.
10) Currently, if a person from Contacts is added to more than one list, that person is treated as the "same" person, so you can see from the history that the person is on more than one list. A side-effect of this is that changing the name that will appear on the labels, gets changed on all lists. Often this is desirable, but there is now a new setting allowing the person to be added as a "different" person to each list allowing different names to be used for the different lists.
11) It is easier to edit a person's (from Contacts) details now as tapping the relevant field e.g. address takes you straight to the Contact app where the edit can be made.
12) If a person on a list came from Contacts, but is no longer in Contacts, that person can still be used, and is converted to a "local" person.
13) Lists can now show the number of international stamps required.
14) After displaying the labels preview screen, the Back button takes you to the screen where you chose the names for the labels. This allows you to easily add or remove names at that stage, rather than start the name selection from scratch.
15) List summary text color and font can now be changed.
16) The address information on the labels was left-justified. It can now be centre-justified or right-justified.
17) The text information on the labels is currently written to the centre of the available space. You now have the option to write it to the left of the available space.
5.22 2018-12-08
Usually the app prints perfectly to labels without a need to change the printer settings. just very occasionally there is a problem and the user resorts to emailing the labels file and printing via a computer. There is a small change in this revision to hopefully improve on that.
5.21 2018-12-06
Accepts larger text when manually entering name and address (text size depends on the text size set in the devices settings).
The app has always had the ability to not print the user's own country on the address labels, if desired (can be changed in settings). However, it was showing the country when the user viewed a single name and address on one of the screens. It has always been like this, but recently a few people have been confused by this. In this version, the name and address shown in this screen will match the one on the labels.
Fixes problem which arises when you attempt to fill a part used sheet with the EXACT number of labels to complete the sheet.
5.20 2018-12-03
As requested by a user, I have added support for a 1-sheet Letter page label (Avery 5165 etc.). This user plans to use this to allow printing directly to envelopes, stacked in the correct place in her printer.
5.14 2018-11-28
Fixed an issue where a user found that names imported from Contacts had an extra space before the first name.
Also, the app is now more reactive to changes made to names in Contacts whilst this app is in the background.
Resolves an issue where addresses were missing from some names added in an old version of the app.
5.12 2018-11-08
Minor bug fix - some addresses were not displayed properly on name preview screen (although fine on labels)

Support links point to the new AddressLabels website and email address
