About Airport Pal
The app downloads current database information from the internet and saves it on your device so you can search airports while out of range of cell phone service, The search engine provides current details of runways and communication frequencies, including AWOS and ATIS, if available. You can search by airport name, location or any simple text which is relevant. For example, use a search for "CYYZ" as an identification, or "Lester B. Pearson" as a name, or just "Pearson" which will find several airports.
All airports found will show as a table and you can select the one of interest to take you to the detail screen. Here you will see the airport name, elevation, latitude and longitude, all runways and all communication frequencies broken out by function such as: ARR. DEP, ATIS, GND, TWR, MF, etc.).
This is designed as a convenient pilot aid not as a substitute for formal documents in flight planning.

Navaids have been added to the search capabilities for this App. Runways and communication frequencies are also available as before. All these are accessible when you are out of range of cell service making it particularly useful while enroute in the cockpit.

An improved search algorithm has been added to improve speed, to reduce memory usage and to optimize 3 letter IATA3 and FAA airport code searches. Otherwise the app features are identical. You can now search by name: La Guardia, or an ICAO 4 letter ID code: KLGA or a 3 letter IATA3 or FAA code: LGA. These searches are all case-insensitive.
