- Report a problem

To provide a simpler and better experience when raising an issue about the Rainbow experience, we worked on a "Report a problem" feature, available directly from the app. This new feature will retire Emily for now, until she is ready to return to service with a new mission. To access this new feature, click on your avatar and go to the "Help and support" menu. You will discover a "description" field to fill in as well as the possibility to attach files to accompany your description with image(s) or video(s). Your agreement will be necessary in order to send your problem to the support service since the sending of your logs will be attached to your information.

- Records your meeting and share them with your network

Recordings of your meetings is now available, audio and screen sharing can be recorded. During a conference an organizer or owner will be able to start a recording up to 5 hours maximum. A recording can be paused and retrieved in order to record the most relevant of your meeting. Processing time can take on or several minutes depending on the duration of the recording but you won't missed it because once a recording is ready you'll receive a notification in app and also an email. You'll be invited to share the recording with your networks as soon as it is ready in your storage. In terms of storage, you will discover a new folder in your bubble menu. In that folder called "Recordings" folder, you'll retrieve all yours but also recordings shared with you. For each of your records you will have access to all associated files.

- Telephony - Display the number or name of the initial called party

When a forwarded or redirected call is presented, the number or name of the original called party is displayed.

- Telephony - Presentation on mobile phone of queued calls

Rainbow handles two calls on mobiles and does not show queued calls. When both calls are finished, if there are calls in the queue, one of them is presented as a new incoming call

- Creation of favorite contacts

Favorite shortcuts are no longer limited to Rainbow users. It is now possible to define favorite contacts. These contacts can come from Rainbow business and personal directories. They can also be chosen from Microsoft Azure shared contacts.

- Web link sharing enhancement

The experience is enriched by precious additional information. From now on by sharing a link the user will get a card below the link which contain a preview of it. The user will be able to see the image, the title and a description. This improvement will increase serenity as the user will have a preview of what it will discover.

- PSTN Dial-in:

The owner or organizer of a Rainbow Bubble, who has the Dial-in feature, can share a URL link with participants to join a conference. Now they can also share a list of international dial-in numbers with an access code. Rainbow Conferencing is now a full bridge for both WebRTC and PSTN connections. Now a user can join a conference by calling a phone number, allowing participation in cases where no Internet or 4G coverage is available. This also allows simultaneous joining with one's laptop to see the screen share.

- Join bubble experience improvement public link:

Your experience is at the heart of our concerns, which is why two changes have been made. Firstly, Rainbow or guest users will be informed as soon as they click on the bubble link if the bubble is deleted, locked, full or archived. This will allow users to save time by understanding the reason behind not being able to join a bubble before they go through the rest of the process. Secondly, if a Rainbow user already has an active session in their browser and they wish to join the bubble via this public link, they will be redirected to their active session instead of opening a new Rainbow session in a new tab in your browser.

- Sending text and file/image simultaneously:

The simultaneous sending of text and file/image in a conversation has been modified so that each sent item is displayed in a dedicated cell (vs. one cell containing both items). The user will be able to manage the text part or the file/image part individually.

- Personal directory:

The personal directory allows you to define personal contact cards used by Rainbow for the search and identification of call correspondents. This first step supports manual creation by the user either from the "Contact" section or from the call log when the number is unknown. A search by name includes them in the Personal Directory section (already existing for Outlook or smartPhone). As for the Business directory, only E164 numbers are supported. Editing/modifying a personal contact is done by searching by name, no list of personal contacts is presented.

- Phone call management:

Managing two phone calls is now simplified with an improved interface. It will be more intuitive to search for a contact to make a new call and see which caller has been put on hold.

- OXE CCD Withdraw with reason:

As a call center agent (CCD OXE only), it is possible to choose a reason for removal from the predefined list by your call center manager.

- In Computer mode, calls being managed on his PC or MAC
- In Office mode, to use his desktop to control a phone set authorized by the CCD (ProACD attribute)
- In Other Phone mode, using a public network connected phone.

When logged into CCD, a user can manage the CCD agent state, withdraw or wrap-up. When receiving a call from the CCD, the CCD pilot name is displayed. Interactions with a CCD supervisor are supported but specific supervisor commands are not part of the CCD agent GUI component. The Rainbow user is only associated to his OXE CCD Agent extension. To manage personal business calls, the agent must withdraw from the CCD distribution. In terms of configuration, the prerequisite is a running CCD on an OXE and CCD agents being configured on that OXE. The Rainbow user must be associated to a CCD agent number exclusively (No multiset). A Rainbow Enterprise license is required.

- New Rainbow add-on plan : Rainbow Alert

Rainbow Alert is a new option, part of the Rainbow cloud-based collaboration service that empowers individuals and teams to connect and efficiently collaborate with colleagues, business contacts, and customers. Rainbow Alert allows notifying groups or individuals by instant messages and/or photos for which an acknowledgment is required. The solution is designed for emergency alert situations where it is necessary to ensure that the stakeholders have received a notification to carry out specific actions. The person receiving the message, either accompanied by an image illustrating the situation, or not, must acknowledge the message to indicate that it has been read, as well as specify to the sender that they will execute the planned action. Emergency alerts bypassed the Rainbow and the mobile phone "Do not disturb" status in order to be sure the receiver will be able to acknowledge.

- New camera screen design

Simplify the user experience when taking pictures with your cell phone in a conversation or bubble.

- Optimise your time with speed dial and DTMF sequence:

Rainbow Softphones can now dial a number using Speed Dials touch. A speed dial touch is a shortcut to call numbers which are not part of any contacts already available in Rainbow. A new speed dial section is displayed under the dialing keypad of Rainbow. Speed dial can be defined by the user or by an administrator. An administrator can create shared speed dials, decide to push them to all user or only to a restricted number of users. S/He can also decide to lock such a shared speed dial, so that users cannot delete them (for example for an Emergency number). Speed dials is available for Business and Enterprise.
Rainbow Softphones can also now play DTMF sequences using DTMF sequence touch. A DTMF sequence touch is a displayed in the drop-down list of the DTMF keypad in Rainbow. DTMF sequence can be defined by the user or by an administrator. An administrator can create shared DTMF sequences, decide to push them to all user or only to a restricted number of users. He can also decide to lock such a shared DTMF sequence, so that users cannot delete them (for example for a sequence to unlock the door). DTMF sequence is available for Business and Enterprise.

- New behaviours of the "Do not disturb" presence:

This is the last part of the global quality plan to improve the user comfort when he activates his Rainbow DND state.
In previous steps, we synchronized the DND state moving from a DND per Rainbow device to a single multi-devices DND State.
We also defined a global strategy to hide or at least not generate any sound notification for any events and notifications and incoming calls. This step defined the strategy for incoming calls (PBX calls, Rainbow P2P calls and Bubble calls).
For PBX calls, we continue to propose a the choice to ignore or still present incoming PBX calls when in VoIP mode.
If users set their to DND and choose to be notified of incoming PBX VoIP calls, then they will still be notified of PBX VoIP calls although Rainbow P2P or Rainbow conference calls will not ring their Rainbow devices. If users set their presence to DND and choose to ignore also PBX VoIP calls as well, then all calls are silently ignored. Note that depending on the type of device some visual notifications may still be presented but without disturbing popup, sound or ringing melody . When ignored, PBX calls are not redirected to vmail or rejected, they can still be managed by any rerouting strategy set on the PBX.

- Start a conference in your bubbles with more than 120 members:

The behaviour of bubbles with more than 120 members has been improved. Enterprise users were unable to start a conference if the number of members in a bubble exceeded 120. From now on, it is possible to start a conference but the maximum capacity of 120 participants does not change. This means that once this capacity is reached, other users will be denied access to the conference.

- Improvement of the mobile experience:

The user experience on our mobile applications has been improved when you want to join a conference. From now on, you will only have to press the "Join" button instead of clicking on the conference start icon.

- The iOS application has been given a makeover:

What this update of version 1.49.1 brings:

- As a new Rainbow member of a company with up to 50 employees, quickly add your colleagues to your network of contacts, and start sharing and communicating
- Sort bubbles per name or per creation date
- Remove or leave bubbles without archiving them first
- Archive and delete multiple bubbles at once
- Promote a participant in a bubble - requires a Rainbow Business or Enterprise service plan
- Bots, like the Emily support bot, are now able to display text message formatting that use the Markdown syntax
