Alice Description
Hi. This is Alice. Alice is your fastest recording and transcribing solution. It's designed for real journalism under guidance from prolific writers and editors from Wired, New York Times, Inc, Axios, Politico, Gimlet Media, and more along with faculty at prominent schools of Journalism.

Privacy is the central philosophy: no ads, no tracking, no tricks. Read more about Alice and privacy on Alice requires only an email address to use.

Alice is an advanced product with a unique design, which will still feel familiar and comfortable. No buttons, only two gestures: no need to look at your phone in the middle of a conversation and easy to use whether you're right or left-handed.

Speed is the final principle: it's really really fast while remaining reliable.

A fair few writers have shaped the product and the business model and we continue to recruit writers and journalists to join and strengthen the community behind it. In the words of writer Adam Fisher, "Alice is a word processor for audio".

Alice is structured as a simple business: we aim to provide something of value, and if people like it enough, they buy it, and we get to work again tomorrow. Get started with a full-featured free trial. No subscriptions, pay-as-you-go pricing when you're ready.
Alice 1.5.0 Update
2020-05-08 Version History
Thanks to everyone who contributed feedback to improve the app. Hope you and yours are all staying safe and well. This release includes bugfixes and performance improvements. Recent enhancements:
- adds speaker disambiguation, see who said what. It's not perfect since the AI's not there yet, but it's pretty good.
- adds Dropbox auto-sync.
- significantly improves internal resiliency of the recording framework.
- adds a status bar to better indicate when the app is recording or paused.
- adds a tiny upload status label so you can relax knowing the app's uploading successfully.
- dims the screen less when recording. Hopefully this reduces elevated anxiety levels when the screen auto-dims a few minutes into the recording to save battery life.
