We always want to make sure we can locate you! In this release, we resolved an issue with how we identify your current location. What’s more, we took care of a problem that prevented you from selecting your destination by long-pressing on the map.

Winter is coming! And in winter no one likes to get cold or lost… So in order to give you the best experience within our app we have done some cleaning and reorganising. We have removed the ‘share your journey’ and ‘reminders’ features so as to make our app more efficient! We are now only supporting regions where we can offer optimal performance.

We've got a few exciting announcements this time round, first of which is a big 'Hej' to Denmark! ally has launched in a new country, and we are so excited to help you get around the city - be it for your daily commute, lunch plans or a weekend getaway! Along with this exciting city addition, we've caught the pesky bugs that were roaming around in some of your ally watch apps and also gone on a spring diet to reduce the size of the app! Safe and happy traveling to you all

So the addition of the departures nearby feature was pretty great… but now it’s even better! On top of being able to see every mode of transport that is departing around you, you can now also tap on these to see more details, such as future departures, stations and the map view! However if you still feel like searching for your destination in the search bar, old school style, it’s an even smoother ride - you can now include the house number in your search! We also did some improvements to our routing!

**New Feature** - Departures Nearby currently available in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Stuttgart and Niedersachsen. Look out for our new features coming to your city soon!

It's 7.30am on a Monday morning, and after a great but tiring weekend, all you want to do is get some more sleep! So now you can glide over to your destination with even more convenience than ever before! Now you can grab some more shuteye on your way to work! Simply tap the bell icon once you've selected your route and we'll let you know when to hit the road Jack!
We've kicked off the year with a bang and some extra work on our user experience, thanks to some valuable feedback from our users! So now you can glide to your destination with even more convenience than ever before!

As we said last time 'Changes are good'. That is why we have a new design to make the style of the app nicer for you. It includes a fantastic 'burger' menu (iOS for cool menu navigation, not an actual burger menu). We also added new languages so that we can communicate with you in a better way: Australian English, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Argentina Spanish, Chile Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Belgium Dutch, Belgium French. We are now proud and fluent in all of those. Much Love!

We fixed a problem that led to crashes using 3D touch and home and work shortcuts in the app.

Changes are good…. We decided to do an autumn cleaning (yeah, because spring cleaning is too old school). Also we wanted to test your memory in all sorts of different conditions. Just kidding. You see, it is not that we don’t want you to be able to find your home and work with one click every time, and it is not that we didn’t want you to have this option on the first page of the app. We simply decided you might have memorised where you live and work by now.
Just kidding again. We know that you know (or not) where you live and work, but we know about those strange situations in which you just MUST find your way out very quickly. So GOOD NEWS, we kept that option for you. The Home and Work buttons will now appear once you tap either the start or the destination field. You can edit them from there or from the menu at the top left of your screen.
More new improvements will be #ComingSoon. Changes are good, remember!
We are also proud to announce we have expanded to Milan,Venice,Bologna,Varese,Molfetta,Bari,Palermo,Matera,Rome (Italy if you didn’ t guess, but we know you did) and Denmark.Woo!

*** NEW *** After sorting out Marcel’s tardiness, we turned our attention to making the most out of transit time. We believe that time is precious and, with it flying by at a rate of knots, seek to find ways to make the most out of every minute. Now, since we are a transit app, we figured that our natural starting point for this would be turning our transit hours into a productive and well spent time.

So that’s just what we did! So as to make the most out of these times, we created a reminders feature that will inform you of when you need to hop off! This way you can get lost in the moment and take full advantage of your time, but still get where you need to be!

To activate this, simply tap the bell icon once you’ve chosen your route and we’ll keep you posted on when you need to come back to reality and hop off!

*** NEW*** We've also brought back the map feature so that you can view your selected route - simply swipe down to visualize your route on a map and get travelling!

*** NEW*** If you’re looking to save time, and are also an early adopter of the iPhone 6S, simply hold down the ally icon on your home screen and travel directly to your saved home or work addresses! Make the most of ally and 3D touch to get travelling as quickly as possible - we can't teleport you there just yet, but we can save your fingers from typing in the cold this winter!

We encountered a little problem here at ally HQ a few weeks ago. Despite saying he was only 5 minutes away, our beloved Marcel always managed to arrive late into the office… So we devised a master plan to tackle his notion of ‘5 minutes’ and got our trusty developers to incorporate a location sharing feature into the app.

Once he’d searched and selected his route, Marcel could then tap the eye icon in the top right hand corner so that we could follow his progress and know when he really was ‘5 minutes away’. We even included the possibility to leave notes on the map along the way because we know he likes to grab breakfast!

Now, we’ve gotta say, it didn’t stop him being late… but at least we could now be kept in the loop!

So we thought we’d let you in on our secret addition… and thus was born our follow me feature! Would you like to know when to leave in order to meet that friend who’s always late? Or keep your loved ones up to date with your journey progress? Check out our new feature, and travel with your loved ones from afar!

UBER
After integrating bike sharing and car sharing, it was only natural that we now throw ride sharing into the mix, so... introducing Uber in 11 of our ally cities! Now compare the best option for your journey across ALL transport types your city has to offer in one place- no need to flick between several different apps. Easily book your Uber- launch the Uber app through ally, straight onto your selected car and away you go!

FEEDBACK BUTTON
Route doesn’t look quite right? Missing info? Tap on the message button to tell us what’s what and improve the route for you and your fellow ally users in your city! Our back end developers will put your suggestions into practise pronto… this has worked really well so far, particularly in Santiago and Mexico City- you guys have been great- we’ve loved working together with y’all to improve routing for your city!

OFFLINE SAVED SEARCHES
A few of you who had difficulty referring back to a route once you’d closed the app, so now introducing offline saved searches so you’ll never lose track again. Simply tap on the clock icon on the home screen to revisit your previous 10 searches… and all offline... know your journey’s details whether you are underground, overground, on a plane, on a rocket, in a deep dark hole… no internet necessary!

On that note, we have introduced a new feedback feature - so it is now easier than ever to speak up and help our developers perfect routing for your city - simply tap on the message icon on the right corner and tell us what is missing! Moreover, ally now includes Uber, yes! Last but not least - yep there is more - offline history will help you see results for specific routes that you searched for in the past. Our last release was a biggy with the move from allryder to ally. But despite the odd ‘R.I.P. allryder’, we were pretty delighted by all your feedback (and when I say all i mean ALL - it came in in its droves). And we’ve listened to you! We’ve put some of it into practice already in this release (check out the new results page… line numbers are back!) and stuck the rest of on our to-do list. For those remaining die-hard allryder fans out there, ally has a lot of exciting things up it's sleeve so fingers crossed you will soon be converted!

ally arrives in Mexico City and Mendoza!
In Mexico City we cover metro, metrobus, buses, troleybuses, tren ligero, el suburbano and not forgetting ‘el mal necesario’ microbuses… ¡Y que viva México! Meanwhile in Mendoza we have colectivos, metrotranvia, empañadas, el Trole and taxis. Mendocinos - this is kind of a big deal as we are the only ones with this data, brought to you by 90% BizDev, 9% coding and 1% Maradona’s La Mano de Dios. Joining Santiago de Chile, this means ally is now live and kicking in 3 Latin American countries, so we thought it was about time we translated the app into español too!

New results page!
It was a tough pill for a lot of you to swallow in the last release, removing the pink whilst simultaneously taking away line numbers and logos from the results page. The blue is here to stay but we are happy to say line info is back with a vengeance! And presented differently… hopefully a lot clearer, and you can now adjust time of departure in the top bar, far easier than the old time slider.

Integrated Twitter feeds!
Keep on top of everything going on in your city with a tap on the feed tab - this will show you service updates from relevant sources. Something missing? Scroll to the bottom to suggest a TRANSPORT feed and we’ll implement it ASAP. OR do what many Android users have been doing by suggesting we implement their own personal feed… we will not integrate those (even if you have illuminating opinions on all the latest #trends!)

New details page layout! Still swipe left and right to flick between different means of transport BUT now switch between written details and map view via the button on the top right hand corner. On the map view comes the snazzy part: tap on an icon to zoom in on that segment of the journey, cutting out the fiddly business of zooming in yourself for the clumsier among us.
White on blue not blue on white action bar. Some of you found the blue on white a little tricky to see on a sunny day, now no need for sunglasses!
We have jumped on the anti-hamburger menu bandwagon - now flick between trip planner, feed and menu via the bottom tabs.
Some Apple Watch tweaks!

Hey there allryders,

Over the past year, the allryder app has achieved many great things: helping people in Germany’s biggest cities get from A to B, our Swiss friends get around Zurich and even giving Londoners a hand navigating red double-deckers and the tube! The little magenta pocket guide has had a great run, but we feel it’s time for something new as we set our sights on cities outside of Europe. And so... (drum roll please)... introducing ally!

We like to think of ally as a nickname for allryder- the cooler, more streetwise, more travelled version- ally is the friend you can rely on, well connected and as at home on a rickshaw in New Delhi as on the U-Bahn in Berlin. Besides, ally is way easier to rhyme with than allryder: don’t be a silly Sally, download ally! (anyway…)

With this release we are pleased to also welcome new cities to the app... so a big olá LISBOA! A big g’day to those of you down under in SYDNEY, PERTH and BRISBANE! And a ¿qué tal todo? to SANTIAGO! Please bear with us as ally is not yet fluent in Portuguese nor Spanish, we will be working on translating the app fully in time for the next release.

ally has shed its pink coat for a more sophisticated blue, a welcome change for some of our developers who have long felt the ‘too girly’ allryder magenta cramped their style. Together with a new lick of paint, ally also has a brand new shiny icon to spruce up your iPhone’s home screen and says ‘get me there!’ far more than the current logo!

We realise this is a lot to swallow at once, but… if you can handle it, we’ve got another kinda huge announcement to make- ally supports Apple Watch!

Not wanting to miss out on all the Go Go Gadget fun, you will soon be able to appreciate the power of ally without even taking your phone out of your pocket! Feel like you are in a real-life science fiction film and get home or to work in a tap of your wrist and faster than you can say ‘beam me up Scotty!’**

Autosuggestions for stations are back!

Some of you may have noticed that public transport stations seemed to of mysteriously gone missing from the app… panic over!
To anyone that might have thought the end of the world was nigh, we can confirm that Alexanderplatz Bahnhof is still standing, the S-Bahn in Cologne has not vanished and that the little bus stop next to your Granny’s house in Crouch End is still going strong.
To everyone else, sorry for any inconvenience caused by the temporary disappearances, won’t happen again!

Sorry guys, we went all blue da ba dee da ba die on you in our last release. Unlike our favourite noughties Brit boyband, the Blue band that wouldn’t leave the top of your screen was neither chart-topping nor sexy. We are happy/relieved to report that with this new release the blue is now a thing of the past, banished alongside another annoying bug- the really greedy one that drained your battery.

We at allryder promise that with 3.4.1, the irritants are gone and we are getting back to our roots: think magenta not blue! Battery half full not half empty! Your way not the Highway!

Hello Dear allryders. My name is Sam Release-Noteworthy and I've been writing the release notes for allryder.

Writing release notes is a well crafted art that I have mastered. My years of training in nuclear physics, diplomacy, martial arts and fighting substance abuse has helped tremendously to shape up my release notes writing skills.

I’m writing this because some of you noticed the extra effort we put here, and just wanted to thank you for that. We take much effort in writing each release notes; it starts with me writing an initial draft, review by a Pulitzer winner, and lastly they’re proofread by a Literature Nobel Prize winner. We put as much love and effort in the release notes as we do in the app; which leads us to this release!

Introducing “take your bike”! for all you cyclists out there, we now show you the route and time estimate for taking your own bike and cycle all the way to your destination. Guess what? it’s cheaper, faster, healthier and sweatier. You’re welcome.

We’re writing these release notes from a cabin in the Alps, where the entire allryder family celebrates our achievements in 2014. We’ve got loads of beer, festive spirit, goulash and probably 2 ski casualties. We wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all Happy Holidays and a great 2015! We've seen tremendous growth this year with many new features... If you’ve liked us thus far, just wait till next year!

Since our previous release, we’ve been working away like little elves on:

* London! Mind the gap guys, we’re here to help you navigate through public transport, Zipcar, Barclays bikes and Drive Now.
* New home screen! Now you can find your destination on the map, whilst also looking at what’s around you, from public transport stations to cars and bikes. Never get lost! And if you do, you can always use us again..
* Improved Live & Local: now, when you move the map, the list follows you as well. So you could see all transport modes even if you change your location.
* Christmas animation! We have given the jolly man a special place in our hearts and our app at this December. Every time you run a search, see Santa in his sleigh.
