Altimeter uses GPS for determining the altitude. To save battery power it accesses the GPS chip only when displaying on your iPhone or Apple Watch. No background activity. Your position is not tracked.

Disclaimer
The accuracy of the altitude is depending of GPS reception. In closed rooms the signal might be poor.
Continued use of GPS can dramatically decrease battery life.

- Drop a pin on the current location. Later you can choose any of these dropped pins and Altimeter shows you the direct horizontal and vertical distance, and the direction using the compass.
- Sharing you current location includes a link into maps.
- Fix: display position with W or S instead of negative E or N

Hi everybody I added the position view on your Apple Watch. Swipe horizontally to switch between altitude mode and position mode. Swipe vertically to change the coordinate system.
