Phew - it's been a few. We're back, and better than ever.
IDENTITY: We've made usernames unique across the entire app. Identities are global, but conversations are private to the group.
The new UI to make identity evident and clear will be released next week. :)
SOCIAL: this means follow time. We're making this app a bit more social NOW. You can now follow folks, and if they want, they can follow you back. This will weight your group feeds by who you follow, and help discover mutual groups between followers (coming later in the week). We have a ton more planned here in the coming weeks.
QUICK REACT: Double tap on a message to like it, or hold down for the full set of reactions.
CRISP COLORS: Change your groups theme with the new slider to make every color bright and legible.
GROUP ACTIONS: Tap the name of the group to access settings, easily change notification preferences, invite members and manage member requests.
MISC: logout issues, crashes, bugs, enabling new colors, landscape mode, and many many design and performance tweaks to make the app better.
EXIT BETA: We'll be exiting beta next release. Thanks for sticking with us through the bugs, the crashes, push notification routing issues and the logouts (a hundred apologies). Some of these still linger and we're working on them!

Changed how you react to messages in conversations. Long press on a message to bring up the reaction bar + contextual options.

Apex now works better in low and no-network environments. If a message fails to send, we'll notify you and let you try again (rather than black-holing the message). Thanks to all who brought that to our attention.
Tons of small bug fixes, design tweaks, performance improvements.
Most importantly, this release sets the stage for Apex v2 which will slowly be pushed out over the next month ;)

Weekend release!
REMOVE FROM YOUR APEX - Not every one is great, we get it. Creators, remove anyone the _soft_ way. Rather than only banning, you can now remove folks from your Apex. They'll no longer be a member, but they will be able to reapply.
LEAVE AN APEX - Not every Apex is equal. If you're in a meh Apex, tap the top right > More > Leave. You'll be able to reapply if you suddenly wake up in a sweat and realize you've made a grave mistake. If the creators of the Apex are feeling gracious, they may let you back in ;)
BUGZ - fixed the following (shoutout to all of you reporting!)
- when uploading a photo, we don't erase the other info you've input
- url previews now display the apex name (looks fresh!)
- performance fixes
- number of layout bug fixes especially with weird spacing in cells

PULL TO REFRESH - there's nothing worse than being in a terrible situation and having no control over it. For those moments when you know new activity is there but you're not seeing it, pulling down will sort everything out. All of those glorious conversations: refreshed.
BUGS AND...right, more bugs were squashed. It's just a fact of life as a software company that there will be bugs. But it's also a fact of life that we'll squash 'em :face_with_look_of_triumph:

Our smoothest build yet. We redid parts of the app, fixed many a bug, and made it snappier then ever. Things should just work (tm) now.
REAL TIME - messages and reactions will now update in realtime throughout the app.
FLEX WITH A BIO - even if you're pseudoanon, I'm sure you've got a pithy quote or two. Who are we to hold back expression? Keep it concise, 100 characters only.
BUG FIX BONANZA - we're squashing all the bugs in sight. If we pivoted to an extermination service we'd be the first people to call.

* Accepting the rules no longer errors. Accept the rules!
* Fixed a few crashes that happened once you've been accepted off of a waitlist.

* If you've been accepted off a waitlist, no need to force quit or logout. It will just work (tm)!
* Accepting the rules no longer errors. Accept the rules!
* Fixed a few crashes that happened once you've been accepted off the waitlist.
* Implemented a work around for universal links in Safari. Email magic link worked - but unfortunately things went wrong in mobile Safari. We've implemented a quick fix.
* Small ui/ux tweaks and perf updates.
