About KEEP APP

KEEP, Kids Emergency Education Project. An app designed to KEEP you and your family safe in a fun, interactive scenario-based environment. Let’s work together to save lives.

My Child gets taught that at school!
That will never happen to me, I am always with my child!
That is impossible, my kid is always with an adult!
When you look at the first part, “My child is taught that at school.” YES, this is true.
Your child is also taught how to read, write, play sports and swim, BUT we as parents know that a few hours here and there isn’t enough to really set them up with all the skills they need. We read to them and get them to read and write at home, we pay for extra swimming lessons so THEY know how to get themselves out of trouble, and we pay for weekend sports so that they can get better at them.
Why would we expect that 2 hours once a year is enough education for our kids to call Triple Zero (000)? And to do so with enough knowledge to help a family, friend, loved one or themselves?

Then the next 2 statements:
Accidents are just that, moments in time when something happens that we are not expecting. These are the moments we want to ensure we are best equipped to handle!

Some scenarios to consider:
* One parent is at the shops and the other falls and is hurt.
* A single parent home and the parent does not wake up one morning for school.
* Staying at grandparents’ house and someone has a medical emergency.
* Walking home from school and witnesses an accident unfolding.

In any of these situations, CAN YOUR CHILD MAKE THAT CALL?
So what can this app do to try to prevent these things from happening? Nothing, this app can’t stop the fall, it can't prevent a fire or other bad things from happening, but this app will teach your child what to do in case of one of these emergencies.

Through very specific scenarios, this app will take your child through all the decision-making skills they will need to make the call and give all the relevant information in a timely manner so that IF, yes, IF they make the call, they WILL have an impact and may save the life of the person they are calling about.
Calling Emergency services can be a really scary thing to do. They ask a lot of questions and your child needs to know how to answer those questions. Through repetitive scenarios we will give them the best chance of saving those critical moments and potentially saving a life.  We all know that we get good at things though doing them over and over again. If we don’t use a skill, we lose a skill. Our app will give your child multiple opportunities to practise with 5 scenarios each (15) across Police, Fire and Ambulance. These will reset every year so that your child can continue their education and never lose the skill set they attain.
Children will work towards attaining stickers to add to their virtual sticker book and will receive a certificate at completion of the scenarios to give them a sense of achievement
We have designed this app to ensure that we, as parents, never have to say, I wish I had done that, or if only my child had known what to do.
