The holidays are upon us!!! Time to relax by a cozy fire, reflect on the year’s pass and to check out the newest updates to Plants vs. Zombies 2.
We have two new plants chillying their way onto the lawn.
Bud’uh Boom
Bud’uh Boom blasts onto the scene as the latest Bombard-mint plant. This tempestuous, instant use plant needs no reason to go BOOM and butter everything in sight. Planting a Bud’uh Boom will result in a buttery explosion in a 3x3 area, dealing massive damage to all zombies within. In the aftermath, the explosion area is covered by blobs of butter that will stun any zombie that steps onto them. And as another parting gift, Bud’uh Boom will also launch multiple Butter projectiles across the lawn, creating more puddles of butter. Leveling him up will launch even more Butter projectiles and make his BOOM even better!
Ice-shroom
Say Hello, or welcome back to Ice-shroom, our newest addition to the Winter-mint family. After spending some time reinventing himself, Ice-shroom is back and ready for some zombie smashing action. When planted, Ice-shroom will generate a frost aura surrounding himself that chills all nearby zombies. This chilly aura will also give a boost to nearby Winter-mint plants, significantly boosting their damage. It’ll always be a snow-day with Ice-shroom around.
Thymed Event
Feastivus
Twas the night before Feastivus, when all throughout the lawn. Not a creature was stirring, except for that massive horde of zombies! Incoming!!! Prepare your defense for the massive zombie invasion. Old and new friends unite to attempt to put a freeze to Dr. Zomboss' evil schemes during this Limited Thymed Event. Starting December 4 and will end on December 31.

Summer might be ending, but that won’t stop Zomboss from coming up with more evil scheme. Check out what the zombies are up to in this new update for Plants vs. Zombies 2.
A new plant is set to join your team!

A ghosted plant, Sundew Tanger can lay wait for any unsuspecting zombie indefinitely and then ensnare them in its trap, creating a temporary wall against other zombies. It will also drain the trapped zombies, periodically producing sun from it. Once it’s had its fill, it will release the zombie, entering a state of slumber for a little while, until it is ready to trap the next undead fool to step on to the tile.

We’ve got some exciting Thyme Events coming up.
Lawnbowl II
Are you ready for some DEFENSE!!! Zomboss is set to go into full Offense and has drafted up a new invention, or rather re-invention, the Catapult Zombie. Don’t let your plants wilt in the sun. Beat the Summer heat and check out this new update for Plants vs. Zombies 2.
What's New:
Two new plants are heating things up during this update.
It’s back!!! And it's more afraid than ever. Scaredy-shroom is an Ail-mint plant that is afraid of his own shadows. This low Sun cost plant is part of the shroom family, and can fire long range spores at zombies in the lane. However when zombies get too close, it hides underground for protection. “How did I get mixed up in this”?
Bamboo Spartan is a melee plant that can attack all zombies up to 2 tiles away with his Spear. His shield allows him to absorb an immense amount of damage, making him an ideal frontliner. Once his shield shatters, he will enter a Battle Trance, increasing the amount of damage he doles out!
Just in time for summer! We have a new Thymed Event headed your way during this update.
Summer Nights - Can’t stand the heat? Stay cool with this Thymed Event! Featuring all your favorite summer plants like Strawburst, Maybee and Kiwibeat. This event is only available between 7/1 and 7/9.

Summer Nights - Can’t stand the heat? Stay cool with this Thymed Event! Featuring all your favorite summer plants like Strawburst, Maybee and Kiwibeat. This event is only available between 7/1 and 7/9.

It's time to head to the beach for sun, sand and Zombies. While cooling off in the waters, check out the new update for Plants vs. Zombies 2.
What's New:
- Hot Potato, Thyme Warp, Perfume-shroom and Gold Leaf will now be usable across all worlds. This change will give us additional design flexibility in future releases.
- We’ve made some minor tweaks to Aloe. The plant will now heal more frequently, trigger healing sooner and his overheal will now start at level 1.
- Ducky Tube Zombies are waddling their way to the Lawn. Ducky Tube comes in three varieties, Basic, Conehead and Buckethead. Ducky Tube will gain a moderate movement boost while in water, and the Conehead and Buckethead varieties will be able to absorb slightly more damage.
Just in time for summer. Come test the waters in our very first Thymed Event at the Big Wave Beach. Bury those zombies in the sand with the feature plants Bowling Bulb, Banana Launcher and the new SeaFlora. The beach party starts on 6/6 until 6/17.
Test your skills in the Arena during the Summer Champion Season. Featuring your favorites, Mega Gatling Pea and Imp Pear, as well as making their first Arena appearances Fire Peashooter and Power Lily. The battle begins on 6/19 and continues until 7/17.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
- We've made a minor change to the Anti-Grav perk. Zombies such as the Cannon Zombie and the Pirate
Parrot will no longer be affected by this perk.
- We’ve made updates to several Penny’s Pursuit levels to standardize them.
- Several Ancient Egypt and Pirate Seas levels have been updated.
- Fixed several app memory leaks. This will improve stability.
- Fixed a number of rounding issues in the Almanac. Plant stats should now correctly display two digits.

Bug Fixes and Improvements
Penny Pursuit:
We have made several fixes and reworks to a few Penny Pursuit Perks.
- Designer Notes: The Sun Break perk wasn't dropping sun at a predicatable rate. We've reworked this perk to now drop a burst of sun on a regular interval (after X number of zombie waves).
Fixed issue where max leveled perks were not appearing in level.
- Designer Notes: The perk "Score Boost" is intentionally hidden when at max level.
Fixed issue where under certain circumstances, players were getting stuck after fighting Zomboss in Penny Pursuit.
- Designer Notes: There is now a cap to the amount of ZPS you can have. This should not affect normal play.
Almanac:
- We have reworked a number of Plant Almanac descriptions *Mostly simplifying the descriptions.
- Plant Almanac entries now include Plant Food descriptions.
- Fixed a Typo, in Bonk's Costume name "Grass Knuckle".
Other:
- Fixed issue where under some circumstances zombies were appearing as Sun in game.
All this and much more jammed packed into this PvZ 2 update! See you in the neighborhood… or the zombies will have your brainz!
