About Roads by Porsche
With the ROADS route planner, you can find the most beautiful route for your next ride. Create a winding and scenic route between two or more locations with just a few clicks. ROADS is provided by Porsche and is available free of charge to anyone who loves driving.
Unlike conventional navigation solutions, ROADS focuses on discovering particularly attractive routes. Our unique route intelligence takes into account speed, curves and elevation as well as the real local road and environmental conditions. It also adapts to your individual driving preferences. This works both on in front your own doorstep and almost anywhere in the world.
With the integrated GPS navigation from Mapbox, the route can be driven directly with ROADS. And thanks to Apple CarPlay, it can be used in the onboard system of your compatible vehicle at any time.

We have once again sharpened the Google Maps import so that the result is closer to the original route. Please note that when importing a Google Maps route, we import the waypoints and connect them using the ROADS algorithm.

By popular request, this update gives you the option of importing routes from Google Maps directly into ROADS. Simply click on ""Import"" when creating the route and copy the link to Google Maps. Give it a try!
POIs can now be filtered in the ""Inspiration"" section. This provides a better overview of regions where there are particularly many interesting places to discover.
In recent weeks, we have received various feedback on the topic of navigation, particularly with regard to the occasional re-routing. Our current navigation partner Mapbox has provided us with a solution, which is also part of this update. We hope that this will improve the situation noticeably and permanently.
In addition, the version contains various bugfixes and the option to deactivate the automated anonymization of license plates in the settings. This can be helpful if text has been unintentionally made unrecognizable when uploading an image.

Thank you very much for your feedback. With this last update in 2023, you can now upload multiple images in groups within a post at the same time. In addition, we have integrated the option to automatically create a title and description when saving a route. Give it a try if you like.

"We are super happy to introduce you to the brand new notification center. The notification center is your go-to place for all relevant community updates such as new followers or interaction with your content. You can find it in the section ""Community"". Simply click the bell in the top left.
Apart from that we have received plenty of feedback that we have worked on:
- App loading time got significantly decreased
- The nearest route entry point is now available for every navigation. This allows to re-enter the original route even though you may have left it or quit the active navigation
- We have further optimized the waypoint calculation to avoid clusters especially in urban areas and crossings which ultimately leads to less irritations while routing
- We heavily inreased the amount of editorial stories on the ""Inspiration"" tab. Be inspired with new exciting places to visit on your next roadtrip

This update is a must-have for all ROADS users!
As you know, we value your feedback very much. Over the past few weeks, this has resulted in three major topics in particular: CarPlay, Navigation and GPX Import. So for this release, we focused on addressing these things with the entire team.
As a result, there is now a completely revamped CarPlay experience. The main attention was paid to maximum intuitive usage: Simply select the route on the phone, connect to CarPlay and start navigation. There is also a light map display for better visibility.
We also received various reports about re-routing issues within the navigation. In individual cases, this could lead to disruptions on the route. This is now completely fixed and the navigation works as it should. The same applies to the import of GPX routes. These are now selectable on any device.
In addition, there are various usability improvements, especially in the groups area. There we have redesigned the categories.

Thanks to the new "pass by" feature, a waypoint can now be passed by instead of having to approach it directly. This allows you, for example, to drive "via" Stuttgart without being directed into the city center. Many thanks to Christian from the ROADS community for the great idea. We have further extended the group area. YouTube videos can now be displayed and played directly. ROADS can also automatically create a post when a route is shared with a group.

First things first: Due to a system change, the Facebook login was not fully accessible in individual cases. We have now implemented a solution for affected users. If you had problems in this regard, please log in again and follow the instructions on the screen. If you have any questions, please contact us at any time.

The categories within the groups now work properly. We have also added a QR scanner. This makes it easier to join groups via QR code directly in the app.

With this update we bring more privacy to ROADS. From now on you can decide who can have access to your routes and who not. In addition, there are now ""protected"" groups. You can only join these with a valid access code. This option is great for already established communities who want to extend their activities on ROADS. Because it ensures that only actual members get access to the group.
For additional overview within the group area, there is now the possibility to favorite individual groups. So you can access your favorite groups even faster.
We have also reworked the upload of images. In addition to improved editing, there are now exclusive photo filters that you can use to enhance your creativity.
Each route now has an animated 3D visualization, which gives you a realistic idea of the route in real time. In addition, current disruptions on the route are displayed here, so that you are already informed before departure if there are closures or the like.
