About 佛说四十二章经

据历史记载，《佛说四十二章经》是从印度传到中国来的第一部重要经典著作。迦叶摩腾、竺法兰把佛所说的某一段话称为一章，共选集了四十二段话，编集成了这部《佛说四十二章经》。又绘画释迦牟尼佛像供养，由是东土佛法僧三宝具足，是为佛教传入中国之始。《佛说四十二章经》集结了佛陀关于持戒、忍辱、断欲、精进、观空等事的四十二段语录。通篇言简义丰，明了易懂，通摄大小乘一切教义，涵诸法要。这部经典反复强调了持戒的重要性，告诉佛教弟子应该如何修行。祖师大德将此经和《佛遗教经》、《八大人觉经》合称之为《佛遗教三经》。
