Introducing Autostop!
Tired of having to stop the timer yourself like some sort of caveman? Well now you don't have to anymore!
With the new Autostop feature the timer will automatically stop when the selected extraction time is reached...isn't it incredible what we can do with technology today!
To use this you go to the settings tab and:
1. Select which extraction profile to use.
2. Switch the Autostop feature to on.
3. There's no step three :)
I hope you'll like this new feature which was kindly suggested to me by a friendly user of the app, thank you so much!

Minor bug fixes and performance improvements.
1.4.1
12/01/2021
Hot on the heels of 1.4.0 I give you version 1.4.1 which contains two bug fixes and one improvement:
Bugfix
- If you deleted the last extraction row in a section on the Shots view, the app would crash. Sorry about that.
- The version number label in the settings view would partly hide on iPod Touch devices.
Improvement
- The format for the date in the extraction rows of the Shots view has been changed. No need to show the year both in the header row and the individual rows right?

1.4.0

This version includes both new features, improvements and bug fixes
New Features
- You now have the option to have the screen of your device stay fully lit when using the timer. If that sounds like something you have been missing, go to "Settings" and toggle the "Keep screen turned on" switch to on.
- Every time you make a new shot of espresso, data about the extraction is stored in a new "Extraction History". To see this history, select the "Shots" bottom tab. You can see details about a single extraction by tapping it in the list. You can also delete data about an extraction by either tapping the "Delete Extraction" button on the details page or swipe left on a row in the "Extractions" overview. And just to be perfectly clear; the data about your extractions is only stored on your device.
Improvements
- A new "Start listening" button has been added to the flow to give you better control over when to start listening for the sweet sweet sound of your coffee maker.
Bugfixes
- One of you dear users reported that the microphone sensitivity was not reliable on new devices. This has been fixed and I've added a simple VU meter on the settings page so you can see how much noise the device picks up. This should hopefully make it easier to get the "trigger" settings absolutely right.
As always, thank you for your review. suggestions and feedback. I am truly humbled and honored to see people from all over the world use my simple espresso timer. Thank you!

No new features this time but now the app supports Dark Mode, you know, if you take your apps like you take your coffee...dark.
Furthermore I've tidied up the design here and there, I hope you like it.

Introducing...the shot counter!
One of my dear users suggested that I should add a shot counter to help you keep track of how many shots has been brewed since the last cleaning cycle was performed on your espresso machine.
That sounded like a really nice extra feature, so I have implemented that. Once again, thank you for the suggestion John :)
Here's how it works:
- Every time you press the Stop button, the current number of shots is incremented.
- To see the current number of shots just tap the "#" button in the bottom of your screen.
- On the "Shot counter" page you can tap the reset button button to reset the current number of shots to 0.
Hope you will like this new feature. As always, thank you for your kind reviews and comments.
Enjoy your coffee.

No new features this time sorry. Just fixing some minor bugs.
I'll take a cop of coffee and then it's time to find out who introduced those bugs in the first place!
As always, thank you for your kind words and reviews.

Hey...still alive and so is the Simple Espresso Timer. Life just got in the way but here we are with a new version which gives you:
- three different timers to choose from. Short, Normal and Long (sorry about the boring names, I though about something like Ristretto, Espresso and Lungo but then again...). Just select one of them to use it, and you can change the preferred extraction time for each of them in the settings view too. This feature was suggested in a review from one of the users of Simple Espresso Timer, thank you so much and I hope you like this feature.
- the user interface has been upgraded a tad, hope you like it (and that you will notice the difference)
As always, thank you so much for downloading and using this app and thank you for your reviews. Reading a kind review from a complete stranger makes me smile for days.
Hope you like this update and enjoy your coffee.

First of all, thank you so much for downloading this app in the first place.
OK then, what's new in this version:
• The app now includes a visual alert to inform you when you are nearing your preferred extraction time.
The visual alert will start flashing five seconds before your preferred extraction time is up and will then flash through a range of colors going from red over orange to green when you've hit the preferred extraction time.
After the extraction time has been reached the alert will flash back through the colors from green over orange to red five seconds after the preferred extraction time.
The default preferred extraction time is 27 seconds but feel free to change this under settings.
• If you are the lucky owner of an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus you will notice that the app has been improved for these phones.
• Minimum required iOS version is now iOS 8.0.
Once again a heartfelt thank you for using this app. If you have any comments I would love to hear them so drop me a mail or leave a review.
