About Ashdown Forest Explorer
The essential guide to exploring Ashdown Forest - home of Winnie the Pooh.
Use this app to locate yourself in this vast Forest. Find your way from any its 44 car parks and discover the stories behind their unusual names too!
Ten walking trails will take you to all corners of the Forest: follow in the footsteps of Pooh, visit the Airman's Grave or take a Walk Amongst Friends.
Ashdown Forest, the largest free public access space in the South East of England, lies at the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For nearly 2000 years the Forest was also exploited for the iron industry, leading to the creation of the heathland landscape that covers two thirds of the area. Ashdown Forest is rich in history and wildlife. Use this app to start exploring.
There are no photographs, audio or video to ensure the size of this app is kept really small.
The app makes use of GPS to show you places of interest close to your current location. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. Whilst this app will work on devices without GPS, such as a Wi-Fi only iPad, you may not be able to use all location features.
