NEW STUFF:
+ Do you have to pound your midi keyboard to get a note to play loudly? Do you barely press a key and have it play too loud? Well now you can adjust S1's sensitivity to MIDI Velocity in the Settings pop-over. Enable “Velocity-sensitive MIDI” and adjust the sensitivity knob to make your performance as expressive as possible for your keyboard. Also great with ROLI keyboards.
+ Fixed a bug that broke reordering your presets
+ Fixed a bug that hid the text of the name when saving presets.
+ Playing the Arp in down mode now plays keys in the order pressed (thanks to Francis Preve for this idea)

Additionally, Synth One founder Matthew Fecher has written something. Why we made Synth One:
Music is everywhere. It’s one of the things we love about living in this world (along with coffee, guacamole, and a few other things).
Think about how music has changed. I’m not talking about how Nirvana changed music in the 90s. I’m not even talking about how The Beatles changed music in the 60s. Go further. What about Bach? What about Ugg?
Wait, who’s Ugg?
Ugg is the cave person I made up. He banged a rock with a stick, did the first drum stick twirl, and gave a cool “Ooooooooh.”
My point, which probably took too long to make, is that we’ve come a long way since primitive musical instruments. What would Bach or The Beatles have done without pianos and guitars? They might have cured cancer or something, who knows, but they gave us incredible music.
They had access to the instruments of their time. And, they changed lives through music.
Now think about the countless people who could have created amazing pieces if they’d had access to instruments. Think about all their lost music. What could they have created?
That’s what inspired us to create AudioKit Synth One.
There are millions of people around the world with access to iPads through school or social programs. People who have the next wave of life-changing music in them. But many can’t afford professional apps and even more don’t have credit cards to download them.

UPDATES by Lord of Microtonality / AudioKit team-member Marcus Hobbs:
• AudioKit TuneUp: The Tuning Panel now has a “back button” that will fast-switch back to the app that tuned up the synth without navigating to iOS. You can use apps such as "Wilsonic" to create tunings that will load into Synth One. Search for free app "Wilsonic" in the app store. This way, you can create scales & share micro-tunings between apps.
You have been asking for these updates for awhile, they're finally here:
• The Sequencer Panel now has a beat “Divisions” knob that scales the arpeggiator/sequencer tempo from 1/64th triplets to 8 bars
• The Arpeggiator+Sequencer will now start when you press a key making it easy to perform with other instruments.
• The Envelopes Panel has a knob for ADSR Pitch Tracking. The higher the value the more quiet high notes become. This is useful for presets where the high notes are as loud or louder than bass notes.
• The Keyboard bar now has a Transpose stepper (semitones)
• Fixed bug in Hidden panel (HAQ Panel) where the “Freeze Delay, Freeze Reverb, Freeze Arp Rate/Seq Pattern” buttons weren’t working properly.

MORE ABOUT THE NEW MICROTONALITY FEATURES:
Each of these new hexany scales has "Just" intervals with several triads with one or more of the 3 pythagorean means: Harmonic (2ab/(a+b)), Geometric (sqrt(a*b)), and Arithmetic ((a+b)/2). It's easy to make music with these pure chords.
Based on the Erv Wilson 1997 paper "Proportional Triads in MOS" which constructed Recurrence Relations and "Moments of Symmetry" with the harmonic and arithmetic triads: I picked up where Erv left off by implementing his paper in code, adding the geometric mean, and searching through large odd and prime number fields for hexanies with these triads.
A Hexany is a polyhedra constructed based on the row of Pascal's Triangle which corresponds to a set of 4 numbers. The Hexany is "4 choose 2" (6 tones), the Tetrany (Major) is "4 choose 1" (4 tones), and the Tetrany (Minor) is "4 choose 3" (4 tones).

We implemented what we call "Smart Power". Here's how it works: Background audio and processing automatically turn off, unless Synth One is connected to AudioBus, IAA, or a host like GarageBand. That way you don't have to worry about confusing settings. It determines your workflow, and adapts for you. :)
• MIDI Bluetooth connects easier
• New Presets and Sounds in the "JEC" bank, including a nice Pink Floyd inspired preset ;)
• Tap the circle on the "Tune" panel for more displays
