Aussie Rules Hero is a unique and exciting retro / 8 bit arcade style Australian Rules Football (AFL) goal kicking game.
It's the Aussie Rules game that probably should have been made in the 80's.
We all want to be THAT hero who kicks the match winning goal beyond the 50 metre arc after the siren.
Well, that HERO can now be you (or your mother or baby brother / sister).
With 3 different skill levels, Aussie Rules Hero has been kicked from the ground up to cater for people of all ages.
HOW TO PLAY:
1. Tap anywhere on the screen to kick.
2. Use the moving target behind the goals to aim.
3. Watch wind speed / direction and time remaining.
4. If it's out on the full, it's game over.
The aim of the game is to kick as many balls as you can between the two tall goal posts (which is worth 6 points).
IMPORTANT:
Wind speed and wind direction change every kick. Wind speed ranges from 0 (no wind) to 15 (strong wind) while wind direction is simply left or right.
There is also a distance countdown clock which upon reaching 0, the distance from goal changes. It's up to you how many kicks you manage each distance.
HERO TIP:
Your hero can kick again as soon as a footy is kicked. In other words, you don't have to wait for the footy to land. (That means you can go crazy!)

Aussie Rules Hero is a unique and exciting retro / 8 bit arcade style Australian Rules Football (AFL) goal kicking game.
It's the Aussie Rules game that probably should have been made in the 80's.
We all want to be THAT hero who kicks the match winning goal beyond the 50 metre arc after the siren.
Well, that HERO can now be you (or your mother or baby brother / sister).
With 3 different skill levels, Aussie Rules Hero has been kicked from the ground up to cater for people of all ages.
HOW TO PLAY:
1. Tap anywhere on the screen to kick.

Welcome to season 2022 of Aussie Rules Hero! A new season means it's time for a HUUUUUUGE update.
Ok, here goes:
◉ You can now choose to play any team song when you want! Simply goto Settings and tap on the 'Team Songs' button. Then tap any team button to hear some cool 8 bit AFL tunes. Sweeeeet!
◉ "Score Attack" mode has been completely overhauled. Each game now give you 3 lives. In the previous version, if you kicked the ball out on the full once, it was instantly game over. Now, if you kick it out on the full 3 times, it's game over. This was the most requested feature by our fans.
◉ The taptic engine is used when kicking the ball. The further out from goal, the more of a 'jolt'. It's almost like being at the 'G. Don't worry though, this can be turned off in Settings.
◉ We added a 'BRAG!' button to which takes a screenshot of your high score for you to share with your mates. Please note, this is currently un-available in "Score Attack" mode. A soon to be released update will include the 'BRAG!' button for "Score Attack" mode.
◉ Two new DAILY leaderboards in Game Center so you can be the best for the day. These include:
- 2022 Score Attack Daily Best
- 2022 Mad Minute Daily Best

Hello Aussie Rules Heroes...
Firstly, thanks for the continued support playing the game and hope you are staying safe wherever you are.
In this update we have fixed a few bugs you told us about.
1. The wind indicator was hidden for iPads (so sorry about this)
2. Sometimes a window would appear blocking game play (really sorry about this too)
How hard is it to check the current AFL ladder on any website or app?
Well guess what? We added the ability to check the current AFL ladder from the home screen by simply tapping a button. Simple, easy and so useful.

We've introduced a new and exciting season game mode called "SCORE ATTACK". A game mode many of you have been requesting.
SCORE ATTACK season mode starts your selected team at the bottom of the ladder where the goal is to finish on top to win the premiership!
Your team moves up the ladder with every win or moves down with every loss.
What's cool is that you can create a season using the current AFL ladder at any time. Start at the bottom and try to win your way up the ladder and join the premiership club.
Unlock ALL heads in the game by winning 3 premierships.
Features of SCORE ATTACK season mode include:

◉ Create a randomized ladder.
◉ See your opponent score update in real time.

Players can now choose between the new way of aiming (dragging your finger) or the old way of aiming via the settings screen. Stacks of players wanted the previous way of aiming so we've listened loud and clear.
Fixed a bug that caused the hero to become frozen when tapping too quickly. We torpedoed that bug out of the MCG!

Welcome to the first update of Aussie Rules Hero for the 2019 AFL season!
◉ Worldwide team live ladder
- Play as your favourite team / club and get them to the top of the ladder
◉ Improved aiming gameplay
- Now you can simply drag your finger to aim and release to kick. No need to wait for the aimer. This means higher scores and more control in the palm of your hands.
◉ Improved 8bit team theme songs
- Every time you achieve a high score your teams club song plays in all 8bit glory.
◉ Improved graphics

A new season of AFL means a massive update to Aussie Rules Hero.
Firstly, thanks to the thousands of AFL fans enjoying the game. We love Aussie Rules footy and we've put our heart and soul into this game.
Here's what's new for season 2018:

- Play the great game of AFL in full screen
◉ Four brand new game modes:
1. Hit the duck
2. Trashy can
3. Panic attack
4. Hit the post
◉ Goals are no longer in the middle every game.
- Every game is different
- More challenging and fun
◉ A man on the mark has been added!
- Just like in real life, he's there to distract you
- Kick against the team you dislike the most
- Change the team of the man on the mark
- Watch him dance if you don't achieve a high score
◉ Three new heroes to unlock
- Now over 80 heroes in total to unlock
- Female and male heroes
◉ 8 bit retro footy club songs!
- Love your club? Then you'll love your club songs in this game.
- If you kick a high score you'll hear your club song

This cool update introduces 15 female heroes. The first Aussie Rules game to include female goal kicking heroes! (thumbs up).
You'll have to unlock 14 of them via the usual game challenges.
We've also introduced a new 30 second mode which has been the most requested feature so far.
Finally, we've made some UI improvements and included a fresh new app icon.

We are pleased to announce a HUGE update in time for the 2016 AFL finals, which include:
4 BRAND NEW GAME MODES:
◉ HYPER SPEED (the goal aimer gains speed after every kick).
◉ HURRICANE (you have to kick a goal in hurricane winds!).
◉ INSANE (the goal aimer moves at an ‘insane’ speed).
◉ FADE OUT (the goal aimer fades after 2 seconds).
20 BRAND NEW PLAYER HEADS TO UNLOCK!
This brings a total of 70 heads to unlock by completing 70 challenges.
UI improvements after receiving player feedback.
