BehaviorFlow Description
BehaviorFlow is ABA made simple. We’ve taken all - and we mean ALL - of the ABA tools that teachers, students, and families use every day and put them into one app. Then for good measure we added in automation for efficiency, made it cloud-based to keep your whole team connected, and wrapped it in a modern and intuitive user interface. The proven science of ABA meets the best of modern technology - that’s BehaviorFlow.

We’re not here to knock other apps that offer data collection and graphing - that’s a great start. But ABA is so much more than that. What about Reinforcement? What about Task Analyses and Activity Schedules? What about Daily Schedules, Timers, VI Timers, and Counters? Yea… we’ve got all of that, and so much more. In BehaviorFlow you can customize from any of our 17 different ABA functions including:

MOTIVATION SYSTEMS - Teacher AND Student facing to increase independence
- Token Economy
- DRO
- Points system
- Register

EDUCATION PROGRAMS - enable REMOTE LEARNING with real time sharing
- Task Analysis
- Discrete Trial
- Activity Schedule

OBSERVATION DATA - take data in REAL TIME, miss less
- Frequency
- Duration
- Interval
- ABC

DATA - generated AUTOMATICALLY any time you create a new program
- Data Sheets
- Graphing

TOOLS - never again lose, break, or pay to replace ANY of these
- Customizable Daily Schedules
- Timers
- VI Timers
- Counters

Not only are all of these ABA tools now available on one screen, but you can access them from anywhere in the world, at any time. BehaviorFlow’s cloud-based platform means that (secure) sharing and instant access makes the whole support team more efficient and more connected. BCBAs no longer need to waste hours driving from classroom to classroom to see data. Teachers can instantly update and share materials for their students from the classroom, home, or the office. Families can be fully integrated into the teaching process like never before, empowered with all of their student’s learning materials.

The final cherry on top of the BehaviorFlow sundae is the teacher dashboard view; designed to give teachers control of their classroom in a way they never have before. We’ve put all of your students, and all of their tools, onto a single page. Once more, for emphasis: this is ALL of your students, and ALL of their tools, on one screen. This means that you can reward one student, then start another student’s timer, then track another student’s behavior data in mere seconds, from anywhere in the classroom. We’re maximizing teacher efficiency and increasing student independence.

BehaviorFlow was born from decades of experience in ABA instruction, and a passion to improve and modernize this life-changing practice. We designed this app with input from BCBAs, BCBA-Ds, and M.Eds, spoke with autistic students and families, and tested with public school teachers and administrators. This is an ABA tool of and for the community. We know that everything you do boils down to one thing - helping students improve outcomes and achieve their dreams. We know that because we are driven by the same goal.

Welcome to BehaviorFlow. We can’t wait to see the amazing things that we achieve together.

2. When a box is awarded in a Token Economy, DRO, or Points function on the Teacher iPad, an audio notification is heard on the Student iPad.

3. When a DRO timer expires , the Timer alert is only shown on the Teacher iPad, previously it appeared on the Student iPad as well.

4. When a register function was initially opened, the Data Summary Page (DSP) columns were blank. This has been fixed, and all DSP columns are now visible when the function is opened.

5. When editing the date of a data session, the time associated with the edited data point is set to the time of day that the edit was made. Previously the time was set to midnight. This change means all edited data points will be seen separately on the graph.
1.4.75 2024-09-27
Version 1.4.75, Build 75, September 26, 2024

This release contains bug fixes:

1.4.72 2024-06-29
Version 1.4.72, Build 72, June 28, 2024

This release contains a bug fix:

Bug Fix:

1. When an education function has multiple sets, and a set has multiple pages of data, a crash would occur when moving from the set with multiple pages to a set with a single page. This has been addressed and all sets can be accessed successfully.
1.4.71 2024-06-15
Version 1.4.71, Build 71, June 13, 2024

This release contains new features and a bug fix:

Features:

1. Added the ability to mark a set as mastered and/or to declare a specific set as the current set. This feature allows instructors to more easily progress through a series of sets in a program.

2. Added the ability to mark an interval as unobserved. When interval data is being collected, it may be the case that a specific interval was not observed. This can occur if there is a distraction during data collection or if a student was not present when the session started or ended. Intervals can be marked as unobserved either during the active interval session or after the session has completed.

3. For Education functions, added the ability to display either the percent positive entries or the total number of positive entries in a data session. Additionally, the graph for these functions can be toggled to display either percentage or total number.

Bug Fixes:

1. Fixed an issue where a crash would occur if the first two data points in the Data Summary Page are IOA data points.
1.4.68 2024-03-25
Version 1.4.68, Build 68, March 24, 2024
This release contains new features and bug fixes:
Features:
1. Programs involving Observations tend to be repeated on a regular basis and with the same parameters from session to session. To help with this we’ve added the ability to schedule Observations (Interval, Frequency, Duration) to run with the same time parameters for each session. Observations can be scheduled to run on selected days of the week at a selected start time.
2. Interval sessions frequently use the same total time and interval length. When an interval session is started, the time parameters are filed in with previously used values. This will save time in starting up the next session when the parameters don’t need to change.
3. Updated the screens for starting Interval, Frequency and Duration sessions to be clearer and easier to use. Updated the default value of Interval sessions to more typically used values.
4. Added the ability to associate multiple graphs with a single data collection function for a Program.
5. Added the ability to associate multiple data collection sessions and their associated graphs with a single Program.
Bug Fixes:
1. Fixed several issues with adding an IOA point to a graph. Limited data points to be considered for IOA to those collected within +/- 12 hours of each other. Added a popup message directing the user to select the primary IOA point to start the process of selecting IOA points.
2. In graphs, IOA data points were shown with a square icon, rather than the expected X icon. This has been fixed.
3. Fixed an issue where Data Session Notes were incorrectly shown along with the Graph Notes on the Graph Display.
1.4.57 2023-10-17
Version 1.4.57, Build 1, October 15, 2023

This release contains new features and bug fixes:

Feature:

1. A page for management of groups and users in an organization was added and is available to users who have the “Principal” role within an organization. This page allows these users to view all the members of every group in their organization and see what role those members have in those groups. They can also change members' roles within groups, move members to different groups, and invite members to new groups. In addition to managing members of each group, they can manage students in each group. They can move a student and all of their existing data to another group, or create blank copies of existing students in other groups. This page makes setting up and managing changes in staff and student assignments easier throughout the year, especially at the beginning of each school year.

2. Updated the interface for accepting requests to join groups and approve functions which require approval. When there is an outstanding join or approval request a notification button appears with the number of outstanding requests. The request is presented in the right hand menu and all details of the request are easily visible and easy to use.

3. Added the ability to add parental signatures to Education Programs.

4. Added Interval functions to the Report Generator

Bug Fixes:

1. When an interval session was stopped and the session was deleted, but no data had been collected in any of the intervals, a crash could occur. This is fixed and no crash will occur.

2. When there are multiple sets in a program, and in particular more than four sets, it was difficult to scroll to the fifth or higher set. Scrolling was made much easier for cases with more than four sets.

3. When sharing a copy of a program to another one of my students, the list of available students was too broad. All students available across all organizations of which the user is a member were listed. The listed students are now limited to those within the same organization.

1. Fixed an issue where a blank screen appeared when Daily Schedules were accessed.
1.4.50 2023-07-07
Version 1.4.50, Build 1, July7, 2023

This release contains new features and bug fixes:

Features:

1. The ability to generate summary reports for students has been added to the website. Multiple kinds of reports can be created, saved as pdfs and/or printed. This new feature is available by tapping the “Reports” button on your homepage on the website. More detailed information on the Report feature can be found at https://behaviorflow.org/guide/ (Search for 'reporting').

2. When collecting data for Education functions, the Type of the data point can be specified. We’ve added the ability to attach a “Subtype” to the data point as well. Subtypes can be created, edited and deleted. They are displayed on the graph for each data point where they are assigned. More detailed information on this feature can be found at https://behaviorflow.org/guide/ (Search for 'subtypes').

3. We’ve improved the notification seen when the Student is logged in on their own device for motivation functions. When a box is awarded for a Token Economy, DRO or Points function the Toolbelt will briefly pop up and the progress bar for the function is now animated to call attention to the awarded box. This will also happen when dollars are awarded in a Register function.

Bug Fixes:

1. Two changes are made to ensure that already collected session data will not be inadvertently lost. First, if you’re in an active data collection session, and have checked at least one box, and you tap outside the data collection popout window, the session will be saved as “Finish Later”. Second, if data has been collected and you press “Cancel”, a warning box will appear to remind you that the data has not been saved and asking you to confirm that you wish to cancel the session and not save the data.

2. When interval data was being collected, and boxes in the active interval session were tapped, the response of the system could be slow to fill in the tapped box. The responsiveness of the app has been improved significantly and tapped boxes are now filled in much more quickly.

3. Fixed the interval function so that the user is properly notified when 1) the app is placed in the background and another app is in use or 2) when the iPad screen is turned off by briefly tapping the power button

4. When a data collection session is completed, occasionally the newly collected session did not appear in the Data Summary Page. This has been fixed, all completed sessions are displayed in the Data Summary Page as soon as the session is completed.

5. If an education function contains multiple sets, and one of the sets contains multiple pages of data in the Data Summary Page, a crash could occur when the user opens a different set in the function with only a single page in the Data Summary Page. This has been fixed.
1.4.48 2023-05-31
Version 1.4.48, Build 1, May 31, 2023

This release contains bug fixes:

Bug Fixes:

1. When any symbol other than a closed circle is plotted on a graph, it is disconnected from the plot line, and easily distinguishable as a standalone data point.

2. Fixed an issue with the DRO Motivational Function where the fireworks reward animation did not appear when logged in as a student.

3. When a function has five or more sets and a sixth set is added, the focus on the screen is shifted to the newly added set. Previously, the newly added set was hidden behind the “Add Set” tab, and was not visible .

4. Fixed an issue where IOA was not correctly calculated for Education Functions with Subtasks or Columns added.

5. Fixed an issue on the website where multiple instances of a program instance sometimes appeared in the Student Profile page under “My Groups”

6. If a data collection session for an interval function is active, and a second data collection session is requested for that same function, a warning box appears. The second session will not be started until the first active session is completed.

7. When editing a data point, the point can be entered without needing to delete the existing value in the edit box.
1.4.46 2023-05-02
Version 1.4.46, Build 1, May 2, 2023

This release contains bug fixes:

Bug Fixes:

1. Fixed an issue where the Data Collection page was too large and did not allow access to the Cancel/Finish Later/Enter buttons. This happened when a Data collection page was opened from the Active section of the Data Popout.

2. Added the ability to edit the name of a Points function and a Standalone Data sheet.

3. Added code to ensure that set names are unique in a specific function. This corrects an issue where some data was not seen in the Data Summary Page if two sets had the same name (data was retained and was visible in the graph).

4. Fixed an issue where a crash would occur if the Share a Copy to My Students was executed a second time.

5. Added a spinner to “My Settings / Requests” as feedback since getting request data could take a few seconds.
1.4.42 2023-04-04
Version 1.4.42, Build 1, April 3, 2023

This release contains bug fixes:

Bug Fixes:

1. Fixed an issue where new account creation took a very long time (up to 45 seconds), or new account was not created at all

2. Fixed an issue in the Duration function. If a countdown timer was used, and the timer ran to completion, the Total Time of Observed Behaviors continued to increase.

3. Fixed an issue in the Interval function when the iPad screen was turned off. When the iPad is turned back on, the correct data collection interval will be shown. Previously, the interval being collected when the screen was turned off was displayed.

4. Fixed an issue where boxes in an Interval function were not able to be edited when the Interval data collection session ran to completion.

5. Changed the Interval Data Summary Page so that the last box of a session that runs to completion is highlighted in red when the session is opened.

6. Updated the Sets tab in all functions so that the full set name is visible in the tab.

7. When an Interval Function is created and minimized without starting the Interval timer, a message is shown asking if the user wants to navigate away without starting the session. The same message is shown for Frequency and Duration functions that are created with countdown timers.

8. Added a spinner animation to the Data Popout screen. This gives the user feedback that the user data is still loading and will complete shortly.

9. Fixed an issue where the Frequency Data collection screen would appear briefly when starting a Duration Data Collection Session.
1.4.39 2023-03-07
Version 1.4.39, Build 1, March 6, 2023

This release contains features and bug fixes:

Features:
1. Added the ability to rewind to the first entry in the ”Flash Card” view in Activity Schedule and Discrete Trial. This eliminates manual scrolling to return to the beginning of the activity.

2. Added the ability to edit or delete previously entered Notes in all Notes screens.

Bug Fixes:

1. Corrected an issue in graphs where the updated value of the data point type was not displayed.

2. Fixed an issue in the Points function where an unlocked student could not award themselves a reward token.

3. Fixed an issue where the “Add New” button could not be tapped in some generations of iPad.

4. Previously, if a user left a Discrete Trial data collection session and then returned to it, the first item in the first set would be opened. Fixed this so that the user returns to the item they were on when they left the data collection session.

5. Fixed an issue in the Activity schedule edit screen so that the delete button (trash can icon) now deletes that item from the list.
1.4.34 2023-02-05
Version 1.4.34, Build 1, February 1, 2023

This release contains features and bug fixes:

Features:

1. Updated the Notes interface to make it more readable and user friendly. Each page with notes at the bottom now includes a Note tab. The tab has two buttons. The “+” button opens a window where new notes can be added. The “^” button expands the notes window to allow more notes to be seen and scrolled through.

2. Updated the Interval function. Added the ability to track multiple behaviors in each interval. Added the ability to show a timestamp of the start time in each interval. Added audible alerts to let the user know an interval has expired and needs to be scored. All three are configurable in each interval instance.

Bug Fixes:

1. All regular data points in graphs are now plotted as closed circle “O’s” rather than as “X’s”.

2. When attaching a function to a standalone program the function should be opened in edit mode to allow it to be properly created. It was not. This has been fixed and users attaching functions to Programs imported from the Program Library can create them properly.

3. In the Activity Schedule if a timer is set, there was no audio alert when the timer expired and the Pause button did not work properly. Both are fixed. The Activity Schedule timer also now creates a timer alert when it expires so users do not need to be in the Activity Schedule window itself to see the timer expire. Users will be alerted on any screen in the app.
1.4.27 2022-10-11
Version 1.4.27, Build 1, October 11, 2022

This release contains a bug fix:

Bug Fix:

1.4.23 2022-09-01
Version 1.4.23, Build 2, August 31, 2022

This release contains features and bug fixes:

Features:

1. Added “push notifications” to the system so that teachers and students will be notified when timers expire and when rewards are earned. These notifications allow teachers and students to navigate away from theBehaviorFlow app screen and still see events that occur in their profile screen that they should be aware of or need to take action on.

Bug Fixes:

1. Fixed an issue where the dollar value reported in the Register function on the Teacher Profile page did not include the decimal point.

2. Fixed an issue where the Program Library could not be accessed from the Teacher Profile Page.

3. Fixed an issue where requests to approve a user's request to join a group were not being seen by the Approver.
