This release introduces Carbon Dividend – a new way of optimizing your charging through ChargeForward.
Carbon Dividend uses carbon emissions data to schedule your charging during times when emissions are low. The Carbon Dividend program allows almost every BMW EV driver in the US to participate in smart charging and lower CO2 emissions from EV charging.

Lightning Rod is a feature that collects EV driver suggestions on where future charging stations should be built. These recommendations are shared with your utility who may use them for internal analysis and potential use in future EV programs.

The new “Charge Plan” feature will provide detailed information about a driver’s smart charging experience. The Charge Plan is an optimized charging schedule based on certain preferences, departure time, and information from the utility about the best times to charge. This feature provides a timeline of the smart charging session to help understand when the vehicle will be charging or paused. It is only visible when the vehicle is optimizing.
