This feature is probably the most demanded we ever had. So after long time of hard work, it’s finally ready and we are truly excited to deliver it.
Main Features:
- You can now share your library online via a dedicated companion website and invite people to view it using any device they have.
- If you are a teacher who manage a classroom library, you can even allow students to self check out books!
Steps:
- To subscribe to the Online Sharing service, go to Settings > Online Sharing. Note that we offer a 14-day free trial, so you can try it for free and cancel anytime.
- Select the “Standard” plan if you wish to allow users to view and filter your library online.
- Select the “Professional” plan if you wish in addition to allow self check out.
- Once library is shared online, changes made to your BookBuddy library will automatically sync to the online library.
- Self-checkouts made online will automatically sync back to BookBuddy library so you can track them.
- The Standard plan is significantly more affordable than the Professional plan and should be selected when self-checkout isn’t required.

We are excited to introduce the long awaited “Read Next” feature! This feature allows you to manage and track the next books that you wish to read by a desired reading priority.
Usage description:
- To add a book to “Read Next”, select it and tap “Add to Read Next”.
- To add multiple books to “Read Next”, tap “Select” at the top right corner, select the books, tap the “three dots” icon at the bottom bar, and select “Add to Read Next”.
- To order the books by reading priority, select My Books > Read Next > Edit, and drag any book upwards or downwards.
- To change sorting, go to My Books > Read Next, select “Sort By” at the bottom bar, and choose the desired sort method.
- When marking a book’s reading status as Finished, it will automatically be removed from Read Next. (This can be customized at general settings.)
- To quickly remove a book from Read Next, go to My Books > Read Next, swipe to left the desired book, and select “Remove from Read Next”.
- To disable this feature entirely, turn off Read Next at Settings > Filters.

GENERAL
- Full iOS 12 support

PRODUCTIVITY
- Allow adding multiple books via the barcode scanner to the Borrowed page.
- When adding a book from a specific filter such as a specific physical location, the Favorites filter, or a specific series, that filter will automatically be applied. For example, adding a book from the Favorites filter, will automatically mark that book as favorite. Similarly, adding a book from “Office” appearing under the Physical Location filter, will automatically assign “Office” into the “Physical Location” field.
- Allow typing and picking a new value, such as genre, publisher, language, in a much more intuitive way. (Previously, the “Save” button had to be selected when a new value was entered. Now the new value can be simply picked from the list below)

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT (CHECK IN / CHECK OUT)
- Added “BookBuddy Contacts” under the Settings page, which allows to import, export, and manage BookBuddy contacts, all from a single location.
- Allow swipe-to-left gesture on books in the “Loaned Out” filter to quickly return loaned books. (For a faster CHECK IN!)
