BookScanner is always up to date, has nearly 10,000 5-star ratings, and a history of over 10 years in the App Store, it is the ideal app for anyone who has to work with popular reading comprehension systems in school. No barcode on your book? You can also type in the ISBN or title and author to look up a book and add it to your history.
How many times have you had to type in a book name to find out what level it is, or how many points it's worth, while holding the book in your hand? With BookScanner, you can quickly scan the ISBN of the book to find the AR quiz number, ATOS (also ZPD) level, points, word count, interest level, as well as, via a one-time in-app-purchase, the Lexile measure, equivalent Fountas & Pinnell Level (F&P) / Scholastic Guided Reading Level (GRL), Guided Reading Grade Level information, and Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) information.
Your scanned books will save to a history list for easy reference later on. This history can be viewed within the app, or you can email, print, or share PDF and CSV files of your scanned book list. Once exported, you can reference your list through a spreadsheet, print labels, or save for safekeeping.
This is a Universal App with custom screens for iPhone and iPad devices to fit the specific screen size - including support for the latest iPhone models. iPad devices also have support for landscape mode and split view. Apple Silicon Macs can also run the iPad app natively on macOS.

Bug fixes and error message enhancements to give additional options if a barcode isn't identified after scanning. Note that some barcodes are the ISBN of the book but some are not (especially Scholastic titles). In some cases, there is a second barcode inside the cover that can be scanned that is the ISBN. If not, there is now a button that will take you to the AR page where you can type in the ISBN to pull up the book info and add to your History.

Lots of iPad enhancements in this update - iPad now has landscape support as well as the ability to use Split View. This gives you the ability to run BookScanner on your iPad along side another app if your iPad supports these features. BookScanner 3.4 also contains plenty of layout enhancements for iPhone users.

We know that teachers love to be organized and to have a list of the books in their library. We've heard from many teachers that being able to export their list is great, but having that export in a spreadsheet would be even better. We're excited to announce that as of BookScanner 3.1 you will be able to export the current PDF of your full history list, as well as a CSV (tab delimited) version. This CSV can be opened in Numbers, Excel, Sheets, or your favorite spreadsheet app. Once in a spreadsheet, the options are limitless for sorting, organizing, creating labels, etc. Happy exporting!

BookScanner has provided ATOS level information since version 1.0. Over the years, many users have started using the Lexile level and the Accelerated Reader program has even started to incorporate this into their site. Given this trend, we are very happy to announce that all BookScanner users can now add Lexile info to the scanned books in their libraries! We know that many users will find this helpful, but it is not needed by all, so we've made the decision to add Lexile info via a one-time In-App Purchase. After purchasing the ability to look-up Lexile level information, it will automatically be displayed alongside all the other information that you've come to rely on BookScanner to provide.
We also spent time polishing some features, squashing some bugs, and updating things to support the newest version of iOS. We are excited for version 3.0 of BookScanner. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
