Brain Gems is a fun and addictive word game that combines elements from all of these games into a nice shiny diamond!
Each puzzle consists of crossword-style clues where all of the answers fit into a diamond shape. So shorter words are on the top and bottom, while longer words are closer to the center. Once you answer a clue correctly, you reveal that word in the diamond!
And once you get one answer right, you now have another hint to the remaining clues, since neighboring answers share letters!
Clues are a wide variety of trivia, definitions, pop-culture, movies, television, stars, quotes, bad puns, songs, capitals, language, vocabulary, logic, fill-in-the-blanks, geography, word play and much more!

Well v3.13 was a very polarizing update! Thanks for the invaluable feedback everyone.
We'll do our best to try and repair things. This update is the first attempt at that.
And over the next few updates we'll try to improve the ui more.
Here is the first round of changes:
+ Can now mute sounds!
+ Hint Button on the Puzzle screen should be more obvious
+ +1 icon displayed on rows that will reward a hint
+ Updated tutorial to reflect newer hint implementation
+ Next random puzzle will only go to a tutorial if the current pack is the tutorial
+ In Settings, can disable/enable saving your progress when immediately retrying a puzzle
+ If you immediately retry the puzzle with "save progress" enabled, your progress is kept but with a shorter time
+ shows version number on Settings screen
+ squarish aspect ratios (like iPads), show a shorter keyboard
+ Address some scaling issues where things were really too big

Back from the grave!
So it has been a while. Quite a while. The game has been completely rewritten and we tried streamlining some of the existing features.
Some of the changes are:
+ New look and feel.
+ Now you have to earn hints! Solving some clues can earn you hints. Hints allow you to reveal one random letter in a puzzle.
+ Purchasable Puzzle Packs. We thought this was the best way to offer you more puzzles and allows us to continue making puzzles. Don’t worry though, you get a lot of puzzles for your purchases.
+ BAD NEWS: After upgrading to this version, any saved progress you have will be lost. We’re really sorry about this, but carrying the data over was just not feasible.

- Sometimes the spellchecker would interfere with answer submissions (would be problematic with the fill-in-the-blank words), so to streamline user experience we implemented a custom-made keyboard.

For right now, if you are already experiencing this issue, we recommend that you force-close the app. Then to avoid it, do not immediately tap the screen after the last clue has been revealed. Either tap well before it appears or wait until after the clock slides into view.
