About BSL Level 3 Part 2
Third Steps British Sign Language for Level Three beginners
Part two
Dear Learner, welcome to Third Steps British
Sign Language, part two, for Level Three beginners. This app consists of nine six to ten minute conversations (In pairs)
Each video clip is followed by a full written translation
As tutors, we recommend the best way to use this app, is to watch each clip a minimum of three times, before reading the written translation.
This will mean pausing at the end of each clip, and returning to the start, as the written translation will play automatically after each clip has finished. The first time you view, watch the clip. Watching will help your receptive skill. The second time, try
to voice over what you understand. This will help your BSL to English interpretation skill. The third time, pause the video as required, to write down what you understand. This will help your written translation skill. When you have written it down, try signing it back. This will help your English to BSL interpretation skill.
If you are organised and methodical in this way, you will progress more quickly. Good luck with your learning!
