About Carb Counter and Tracker

It's easy to consume too much carb. Carb provides energy but too much causes insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome (with high blood pressure & high cholesterol), type 2 diabetes, obesity, inflammation and difficulty fighting off infection. Inflammation plays a key role in inflammatory diseases such as osteoarthritis and heart and circulatory disease and is implicated in brain disorders including depression and Alzheimer's dementia. A variety of cancers are also associated with metabolic syndrome. Use this app to control carb intake for diabetes, obesity, polycystic ovary syndrome, epilepsy, and irritable bowel syndrome as advised by your healthcare provider, to protect from all the diseases associated with excessive carb consumption, and to support a ketogenic diet.
The app will guide you to set your target daily carb intake based on your chosen calorie intake (or the default based on your age and sex) and the percentage of calorie intake you wish to be provided by carb. Both calorie and carb targets can be changed at any time.
Synchronize the app (on the Settings screen) if you have other First Line Medical communications nutrient counters (eg in an app bundle) so you only need to record your food and beverage intake once and it will be shared with all apps. Record your food and beverage intake using the barcode scanner, speech recognition, by favoriting foods, or by using search function and use the serving sizes provided (mainly those suggested by USDA Food Data Central) or change to your serving size. Your progress towards your target daily intake will be visible immediately in real-time. You can also view your progress over time on the Month view dashboard, and export food diaries and carb intake into a spreadsheet for your own information or to share with healthcare providers.
Apple's HealthKit functionality is integrated in the app's user interface so you can share data with Apple's Health app by tapping the Share button on the Settings screen.
The app is curated and contains 328 common (mainly healthy) foods and drinks with all plant-based foods/beverages in in green type to help the user consume the 30+ different types of plants per week recommended by experts for a healthy gut microbiome.
The app also provides users with the ability to add their own foods and recipes, and offers nutritional information through the Info tab.
