Cherry Block Smokehouse is Houston’s modern, quintessential steakhouse that breaks down the stigma of the formal steakhouse meal and brings honest, straightforward meals to guests. Owner Felix Florez created a menu executed by executive chef Jordan Economy and sous chef Mellissa Hart that balances capturing interest of the ultimate food lover with both creative and responsibly-sourced food, but is approachable to anyone who comes to the counter in search of a tasty meal. Proteins are sourced by Falcon Lake Farms, owned by Florez, and from partner ranchers throughout the state of Texas, then harvested, butchered, cooked, and served to guests by Cherry Block. There is no break in the supply chain whatsoever, which is very rare in the restaurant business. Cherry Block Smokehouse has an extensive lunch and dinner menu that features southern Texas and Louisiana-inspired dishes like hush puppies and boudin, plus pecan-smoked barbecue meats, and a selection of steaks and chops ranging frmo 6-ounces to 20-ounces. Cherry Block Smokehouse will open on September 7, seven days a week, from 11am to 10pm, and is located at The Stomping Grounds in Garden Oaks at 1223 W 34th Street, Suite A-100, Houston, Texas 77018.
