A new version, with upgraded functionality and a new app icon design.
Functionality:
New and improved functionalities are as follows:
Calendar:
There is now a full calendar layout to make checking events easier. You can also select a specific day to view just the events for that date, as well as save any event to your personal calendar on your phone.
Push notifications:
A sound is now included for push notifications.
Tab counter:
A red counter appears on each tab name to indicate how much new content has been loaded in each section. This helps users to at a glance see when the school has updated the Communicator.
Gallery:
Users can now upload an image into the gallery. This means a parent who is at a sports match can take a photo with their smart phone, and then upload the image through the School Communicator app. It will appear in the school’s admin system and once they approve the image it will appear on the Communicator. There is the option to download images provided the school has enabled this functionality.
My details:
In the top left of the menu screen is an item shown as Account. If you click on this it opens up the “My details” information so you are able to update your personal details. Once updated, this will appear in the admin system for the school to confirm your latest information against the contact information they have for you.
