In our first autumnal update, we would like to announce a big update to Voice Over Mode. This one is for our accessibility users, and it now actually works and rather well too! There are still improvements for us to make, and we will be continuing to work on this over the coming months, but for now we hope you like the new experience, and if you have any comments, please use the App Feedback option in “My Account” to let us know.
We have also fixed a bunch of bugs, including the black screen issue when trying to play a video, reported by a small number of users.

New for this release: Home screen Widgets and Puzzles are back!
- You can now add your very own news widgets to the home screen to live with all your apps. You can choose from small, medium and large widgets, and you can customise the widget by flipping it over and selecting your favourite news topic. You can even have multiple versions of the widget side by side, running different news topics at different sizes!
- PUZZLES! Yes they are back, you can now do the daily crossword on your commute, or relax at home and with a Sudoku puzzle and a brew. You can find the puzzles in your Navigation at the top of the screen in your My News tab
Also included are the usual bug fixes and behind the scenes work for future features and a smooth experience.

• More improvements to a battery drain issue some users are experiencing. We will continue to monitor this going forward.
• The app will no longer require your location, or ask for permission to use it.
• The usual bug fixes and some polishing.
Commenting update: It’s still being worked on and we hope to switch the service back on again soon.

This update marks a big change for User Accounts and Commenting going forward in order to address a number of issues. In this release, we have updated the user accounts back end, what does this mean for you?
• You will be automatically logged out of your account upon installation, so you will need to log back in again. We are sorry for the small inconvenience but it is a necessary step to ensure your data security. If you don't remember your login details, you can use the "Forgot Password" feature to reset it.
• Commenting on articles is temporarily suspended. This feature is getting a huge overhaul, and will be turned back on again as soon as possible, we are very sorry but this is just unavoidable at this time due to the new user account security.
Also in this update is a fix for a small number of users that have been experiencing battery drain while the app is not being used. We will continue to monitor this issue going forward, if you are still experiencing battery drain in the background with this release, please use the in app feedback to get in touch.

Announcing the brand new Express App! The app has been rewritten from the ground up to give you the best experience possible! Here are just some of the highlights:
- Don't have time on your commute to read an article? Bookmark it for reading later!
- Brand new Discover section to make it easy to find news that interests you. You can even add those topics to your top navigation in My News
- All new Tag navigation. Tap any tag in at the top of an article, or it's footer to see more related articles. You can even tap the tags in the Article Teaser cards too!
- Even more Tag Goodness! If you like a Tag, why not save to your favourites! Tap the plus button at the top of a Tag Page and we'll save it in the new Discover section and add them to you "My News" Navigation as well.
- Is there a journalist you really like to follow? Well now you can follow them in the app. Tap their name in the byline to see their profile and follow. We will save them in the new Discover section and add them to you "My News" Navigation as well.
- All new Dark Mode! It will work with your device settings or you can turn it on and off manually in the "My Account" section.
Change the font size and colour contrast of the article text to what works best for you.
