Trash Incentive App is a gamified solution designed to encourage students to dispose of waste properly while making environmental action fun and rewarding.

With a clean and easy-to-use interface, students scan QR codes located at designated trash bins during specific hours—typically lunch time (e.g., 11 AM to 1 PM). Once scanned, the app opens the camera and provides a 15-second window to capture two quick photos: one of the trash and one of it properly thrown away in the bin. These submissions earn students points that can be redeemed for exciting rewards like gift cards, school event passes, or other perks determined by school partners.

The app features a point tracking system, allowing users to view their total score and progress toward rewards. A live leaderboard motivates friendly competition among classmates to see who’s making the biggest positive impact. The app also includes sustainability tips and fun challenges like “Most Trash Collected This Month” to keep engagement high.

To prevent misuse, AI verifies that photos actually depict trash and ensures students aren’t reusing the same items. The QR code system uses time-based validation to limit when and where submissions can be made, and photo comparisons are used to detect fraudulent behavior.
