About EDC - Easy Data Collector
EDC is an app developed to capture field trial data directly in the field. Traditionally, people have collected this data using paper and pencil and carrying a camera and a device to collect GPS coordinates. This lightweight app allows people to get data organized and ready to be sent to your email. For general use like universities, researchers, agronomists, farmers, a user that wants to get tag pictures of their field scouting and the ability to capture this photos of crop, pests or diseases or simply capture notes while they are in the field they can do without carrying extra tools. Share this locations, data, photos or notes with others on collaborative way.

The changes done for the “non-API” version of EDC (Easy Data Collector) represent a shift to a more efficient and standardized data collection experience for the user. The “non-API” version is targeted more to externals and will allow the user to define what data are collected in EDC. It will include a more comprehensive list of crops and targets matching EPPO standard and Scout. Selection of crops and targets have been made easier for end users with the ability to define favorites common to their location. Enhanced assessment details fields with picklists derived from Scout will enable more accurate categorization of data collected both in the setup of assessments and as the data are gathered. Prompts for assessment dates will allow a more accurate expression of collection dates and allow pre-population of assessment files prior to going to the field. The inclusion of treatment numbers and customizable mapping allows to the user to layout the trial in EDC as it exists in the field and further enables data checks through the Heatmap when assessments are finished. In addition, a number of prompts will be added to ensure that important questions about the assessment are confirmed by the user.
