This innovative feature allows you to seamlessly engage with your scanned documents and library content by simply asking questions to the assistant. To enhance the accessibility and convenience of this feature, we’re also introducing a new “Voice Mode.” With Voice Mode, you can interact with the AI by simply using your voice, eliminating the need for typing. Speak your questions to the app, and it will provide you with the information you seek.

• We had an issue with the Reading Language screen where Hebrew speakers couldn't find it in the list of supported reading languages. We've fixed it and apologise profusely for the confusion. Hebrew speakers should now be able to select Hebrew from the list of reading languages and use it to read PDFs, documents, etc. just like before. Envision 3.0 is out and if you update to this version you’ll be able to use Envision entirely free of cost. We’d like to thank all our subscribers over the years for their support of the app. It’s with your help that we’re now able to offer the app to everyone in the blind and visually impaired community across the world!
We also have some major changes with this update:
• We’ve improved the speed of Scan Text greatly with this version. It’s still incredibly accurate with reading text but now it’s a lot more accurate as well.
• We’ve also improved offline instant text with this update. Now it can read text in any orientation(even if the image is upside down).
• We’ve also improved the overall stability of the app when you share images or files from outside using the Envision It extension.

1. Translate - With Envision you can translate documents you scan or import into the app! Envision will automatically detect the language of the page and translate these documents entirely offline in over 50 languages.

1. Column Detection - From this update on, Envision can recognize columns and speak out text in the correct order. So if you’re looking to read magazine articles or ebooks with column layouts then this will be a huge step forward! The column detection feature is turned on by default but you can always turn it off, if required, in the Help Tab.
2. We’ve fixed a bug that prevented Twitterific users from sharing images using ‘Envision It’.
3. We also have a new section in the Help Tab called ‘What’s New’ to help you keep up to date on the latest and greatest features, fixes and improvements within the Envision app.

Here comes another big update ringing in the festive season! Let's run down through some new things that you will find:
1. Siri Shortcuts: You can now set up Siri Shortcuts for all the actions of the app through the Help Tab. You can then simply say "Hey Siri, read this" to open up instant text or "What colour is that?" to start detecting colours. Try it out and share your results!
2. 3D Touch Shortcut: We have also made it easy for you to have quick access to your most used actions by setting them as 3D Touch Shortcuts. You can then access them by pressing hard on the Envision app icon and then jump directly into the action you're looking to do.
3. The holiday season is back, so we have introduced introductory discounts. If you're contemplating becoming a subscriber, signing up for a subscription now will make sure you pay almost half for your first period.
4. There's also new Christmasy processing sound and app icon.
5. We made several improvements to the document recognition feature, where the experience is smoother than before.

Boom! Now, this is an update!
Introducing Envision 2.0. – A whole new look, more customisation and at a new reduced price for all.
We have been working behind the scenes for a while to build a brand for Envision that truly represents Envision's value. This is now evident in the app in terms of visual elements like logo, colour scheme and icons, but also UI changes such as dynamic font support and dark mode contrast for low vision users. Here's a list of all the changes you can find in this new update:
1. New look – new logo, new colour scheme, new icons.
2. Dark Mode – if you're a user who prefers a dark mode for the app as it is easier on the eyes (and better for the battery life) this is your chance.
3. Dynamic Type support – if you're using your phone with increased font size, the app and its buttons will automatically scale and adapt it's UI for a better experience.
4. The names on the buttons are also now localised into 25 languages.
5. An option to turn off processing sound has been introduced in Settings Tab.
6. The bug with importing PDF from other app has been fixed.
7. The bug with importing images from Twitteriffic has been fixed.
In addition to these changes, Envision now has new reduced prices. The prices vary based on geography, hence go into the app and find out the new prices in the subscription page yourself. That said, the prices have been slashed by more than 50% across all countries.
We have also built several small but delightful features in which we are excited for you to find it out as you explore the app. This is the beginning of a new ambitious road for Envision and we are very excited to continue building more feature and enhancements. Hello everyone!
This update brings some more bug fixes for iOS 13, making the app more stable. We've fixed a crash which happens when you go back to the text tab after reading a document. We've also fixed the play button on the document reader page which wasn't working for a few users.
This also has a few under the hood improvements to make teaching faces and reading PDF documents faster.

With this update we've made the following fixes:
1. We've fixed an issue where the app wasn't reading or describing images from Twitter or other apps.
2. We've fixed an issue where users weren't able to delete faces they've trained once with the envision.
We've also updated strings in Vietnamese and added a processing alert if you're trying to export text before the processing is fully complete. We've some major improvements planned for September and are excited to share it with you in the upcoming days!

We hope you're summer's coming along well. This week's update comes with the following goodies:
1. We've improved the "Envision It" extension for reading PDFs. With this update you can share PDFs like before and it should work a lot faster and more realiably!
2. We've also slowed down the pinch to zoom feature in our magnifier. You should be experiencing the same level of pinch to zoom like you do in the Camera app.
3. We've fixed an issue where you couldn't save a person's name in a non-latin language(like Arabic, Hebrew, etc.).

Hello Envisionaries!
We know this is a long due update.
May has been super hectic(and super awesome!) for us and lots of new, exciting things are happening each day! We would share them all with you in due time so in the meantime please continue supporting us and giving us feedback on where to improve.
Without further ado, here's what's new with this update:
1. This update brings more firepower to the Find tab. We've now expanded the objects collection to more than 60 different objects. You can also request objects that you think should be added to this list and we'll try to add them in subsequent updates. We've plans of making this tab more powerful in the near future so give us your thoughts!
2. We've fixed a bug that caused the scene description to not work from within the app for a few of y'all. We've made sure that such incidents don't happen in the future as well. Thank you for reporting this at the earliest.
3. Some minor changes under the hood to improve the performance on devices running iOS 10.
Rest assured June will be a month full of interesting, exciting updates from us! Oh, did we tell you about our new iOS developer, Abby, who worked on some of the good stuff you see with this update? We are happy to introduce a major to the scan and find tab. With this update you can scan for both faces and objects through a live video feed!
When you tap on find common objects you will be able to scan for objects such as cup, chair, laptop, etc in your surroundings. When these objects come into view you will hear a beep that indicates the presence of the object. In the case of find persons it works in a similar way. You will be able to detect people and if you've trained Envision to recognise them you can hear their names spoken to you as well.

Another week, another update!
We've been getting such an amazing response to our holiday subscription sale! Keep it coming and we promise to bring more treats this holiday season!
Here's a quick rundown of all the updates with this release:
1. Improved colour recognition! We've reworked our colour recognition algorithm to be more accurate and faster as well. Do try it out and lets us know your thoughts about this!
2. Improved Russian translations! This week we saw a lot of people from Russia becoming part of the Envision community, we took the time to fully test the app in Russian. Russian translations are brought to you, courtesy of Benjamin. Benjamin is our awesome iOS developer who's also responsible for a lot of good stuff you see in the app nowadays.
3. Full translated subscription page so all the information on it is now available in your local language.
4. Major bug fixes and improvements under the hood.

A new festive update is here! This holiday season Envision is slashing the price off all of its subscription options by 30%! This is huge, so get all your friends and family on board as this is a limited time offer!

Hello,
October has been such a rewarding and intense month at Envision and we have some interesting updates to share with you in this update.
1) Dynamic Type support - With this update, we've added support for dynamic type throughout the app. This means the app will adapt to the font size of your phone which makes it a lot easier to use for our users in the low vision community.
2) Document text update - We've improved our document text mode with a couple of much requested updates. When you choose to the playback option, words are now highlighted in the text for users to easily keep a track of what's being read. You can also adjust the font size of the text directly from within the document text page.
3) Translated to Greek - Envision is now fully translated to Greek! Thanks to the efforts of Irene Nakas and her friends! Also, huge thanks to them for continuously testing the beta version of the app and for making sure we didn't miss out any translations!
4) Various bug fixes and improvements are also part of this update which improves the speed and stability of the app.

Hi,
Firstly, sorry for slight delay with our iOS updates. September has been a pretty hectic month for us but we're back on track now and have some exciting stuff for you:
1) A revamped walkthrough - We've made the walkthrough shorter, crisper with this update so new users don't have to go through a lot before getting started.
2) A new subscription page - We've redone our subscription page as well so it's easier to figure out the subscription plans and know what other subscribers have to say about us!
3) Object training in the background - We've pushed the object training functionality to the background so you can continue to use the app without having to wait for the training to get over. Training usually takes 3-5 minutes and you should be able to scan and find your objects after it's done.
There are a bunch of other small bug fixes and improvements as well that have been reported over the past 3 weeks.

Hi,
This version introduces a new long-awaited feature in Envision called Scan & Find. It's a whole new tab in addition to the Text and General tab that already existed. This tab has three functions:
1. Teach Envision: This is similar to the previous teaching flow that we had, but we have improved it for higher accuracy. The new teaching method does take a little longer to process, but ensure the recognition happens much more accurately.
2. Custom Scan: This function turns on the video feed and starts searching if any of the trained faces or objects are in the frame. As soon as it sees an object or person you have trained on the frame, it will speak it out. This could be useful in instances where you are searching for your lost keys on the table or for a friend in a cafe.
3. General Scan: This function is to use the video feed to recognise general objects that are in front of you. This could be used to get a sense of what objects are around you or to just point it out from the bus to see what are you passing by.
We have put in a lot of work into building the backend for this and will continue to work on improving its stability, speed and accuracy. This is the very first version of this whole new feature so we look forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback on it and learn how to make it better.

Here's the update for this week's release:
1) Envision can now recognise QR codes apart from barcodes. So you can scan any QR code and Envision can help you get relevant information from it. You can click on the 'More Information' button.
2) We're super excited to have Envision now available in Italian and Arabic! We're extremely thankful to Elena Brescacin, one of our Annual subscribers and Moshin, from Oman for the translations.
3) We also have some minor bug fixes and improvements to the app in general.
We spent all of July working on some really interesting features and testing them to get it just right. We can't wait to show you this in the coming month. Another quick update to bring you some quick improvements!
1. Envision is now completely available in French! Yes, we totally planned for it to coincide with France winning the World Cup!
2. We have also improved our translations for German and Polish. We are looking to translate it into more languages. Do let us know what language would you like to see Envision translated to next.
3. We have updated our Custom Object Recognition model. Some users might find this new version to be a bit slow at first, but don't worry it will get faster with our next update. We changed it as this gives us more flexibility to do more with object recognition than our previous model did. Stay tuned for more information about it in our next update.

Hi!
It's been a while but we're here with some wonderful updates that can help you get more out of Envision than ever before! Lets dive right into it:
1) We have a new offline text recognition system that can read any latin based languages like English, German, etc. This makes Envision the fastest, most accurate text reader out there, easily. Don't worry, our previous recognition system is still very much in place. So those of you reading Hebrew or any other script can still do so like before. You can turn on or off this feature in the Settings tab of the application.
2) Envision can now read PDFs too! We've expanded our share sheet's capability to read any kind of PDF. All you'll need to do is select a PDF from any app, choose "Envision It". The Envision app then opens up and will process the PDF. You can perform all actions that you usually do when you scan documents like exporting the text or having Envision read it back to you.
3) We've also revamped our walkthrough to be a lot smoother overall.

Another week, another exciting update for you! Here's what's new with this update:
1. When you now use the 'Describe Scene' function, you have the option to save the image to your camera roll along with the description. When you have the VoiceOver on you can listen to the description whenever you are exploring through the photos on your phone.
2. We have redesigned our 'Login with Email' page where users now have the option to easily reset their password and ask for the confirmation email to be sent again.
3. The 'Scan Barcode' function has also been enhanced. You can now continually keep scanning barcodes without interruption and look for more information only when you want to.
All these updates are a result of the great feedback you have been providing us. We would love to hear more from you.

Hi Envisionaries,
Things are moving quickly here and we are adding new features and improvements to the app faster than ever. Here's what's new in this update:
1. A brand new feature to Scan Barcodes! The latest addition to our General Recognition Tab allows you to identify any product by pointing your phone's camera at its barcode. A sound guidance is provided to help you detect and scan barcodes with ease.
2. We have introduced a way for users to refer their friends to Envision. If you are a subscriber, you can provide your friends one free month of Envision by having them enter your associated email address in the Referral button on the Settings Tab.
3. Our Document Text feature saw a major improvement in terms of how outputs were displayed. It is now even simpler to explore the text with VoiceOver.

1. A hot fix for a strange bug that was affecting Automatic Language Detection. It should work fine now and when activated, it will detect the language of the text you are trying to read and speak it out with the correct voice.
2. A new set of sounds. We have been working with the super talented Andre Louis to develop a new set of processing and activation sounds. We are excited to find out what you think about them.

Hi Envisionaries,
Another week, another update. This time some major changes in settings that many of you have been asking for:
1. You can now select the voice you prefer within the settings of Envision app itself. This prevents all the voice-related problems that some of you were previously experiencing. No more annoying Samantha! (Sorry, Samantha)
2. There is also a colour detection setting where users can choose between a rich descriptive colour description or a standard colour description.
3. More languages! Envision now fully supports Spanish and Portuguese! Special thanks to Dr. José Humberto and Aressa Marque for their help with the translations.
More improvements and features are being built right this moment that we are excited to share with you soon. Hello Envisionaries,
Here are a few major improvements we are bringing out with our latest update:
1. A new "Detect Color" option has now been added to the General Recognition tab. The description of the colour is more like how a human would describe a colour to you, rather than a mundane red, green or blue. It also translates across all languages. We would love to hear your thoughts on that.
2) There is also a new Speech option in the Help and Settings tab. Here users can turn on or off Automatic Language Detection. When turned off, all text recognition will be read out the system voice of your phone.
3) The Speech setting now also has an option for setting the Speaking rate of the various function of the app. You can choose the speed you want with a slider. Please note that adjusting these options will not have an effect on VoiceOver.
