We went away and spent the last couple months fixing some bugs. A lot of bugs. Like all of the bugs we could find. So, if you're a fan of improved performance and stability? You'll love this build. And if you're taking great pictures of the food you're cooking from the app, we want to know about it. Just use the hashtag #cookit. Thanks for supporting us!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: We love that you’re using our app, but it's critical that you upgrade your app and use this version. It will no longer work properly if you remain on an older version. If you’re unable to install the update for some reason, you can still view our recipes — and your recipe box — by going to our website, Epicurious.com. And you can keep up with everything we’re doing by following us on Apple News. The new version of the app is more stable, faster, and paves the way for future innovations. Thanks so much for using our app for the past six years.

For everyone who doesn't have Apple Watch? You have to check out our new Smart Timer. It'll tell you how to cook just about anything — no recipes required.

If you missed our last update, we added a smart kitchen timer for Apple Watch and the iPhone, too. This handy little feature can tell you how long it takes to cook more than 40 meats and vegetables, from acorn squash to zucchini.
And with this update, we've added even more bells and whistles to the smart timer. (Well, the bells anyway.) Now, when your dish is halfway done, you'll hear a ding. When it's just about done, you'll get a double-ding. And when it's finally done, a truly epic triple-ding. Also fixed: Some bugs related to ZipList recipes, third-party recipes, and member recipes.

Tiny tweaks and feats of strength, including making ads disappear when we don't have any to show you. And we solved the mystery of the phantom egg timer!
But really, we launched the world's first intelligent kitchen timer for the Apple Watch*! Choose from 40+ ingredients from one of five categories — steak, vegetables, chicken & pork, seafood, eggs — and our custom timer will tell you how long just about anything takes to cook. We'll remind you to flip something over and give you pointers on how to tell when it's cooked perfectly. Finally, an answer to the question: "Hey, is this done yet?"
*Don't worry, even if you don't have an Apple Watch, you can still use our new smart timer — it works on the iPhone, too.

We cleaned up the kitchen after the launch party. Missing recipe boxes have been recovered and should be appearing. A pesky recipe search error on iPhone has been eliminated, as well. The app loads smoother and is more stable as well. We also remembered to buy milk and eggs from the store.

Everything is new in this version! We've relaunched Epicurious and redesigned the entire app. It's like a gut kitchen renovation, only with a few million lines of code.
