About Ergonomic Solutions for Workers
Ergonomic Awareness, Techniques and Solutions in Materials Handling
This is a safety tool for all employees that lift, move or maneuver materials of any type. The app helps to guide both workers and employers through the systematic process for identifying and controlling workplace musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in relation to materials handling.
The app is an Ergonomic Hazard Assessment that guides workers and employers through a series of questions relating to their job duties and work environments to determine ergonomic issues and solutions. Solution examples include proper lifting techniques, how to fit the job to the person and rotational shiftwork. The app is composed of 20 questions. Upon completion of the questions, the app compiles the data entered, provides sample hazard controls (both administrative and engineering) and assembles a final report for the user.
The final report serves as a completed safety assessment that can be used to administer hazard controls for various job positions and enhance the safety of work environments throughout a facility.
