Ya know that thing where you go to submit a big app update and you slave over making sure everything’s totally perfect where every i is dotted and every t is crossed but when you submit it to the App Store you actually upload the wrong version which still has a bunch of bugs and even the wrong app icon but when you come to this realization the app is already live to the public and there’s not much you can do except feel a little despondent because your parade got rained on just a bit?
Yeah, that.

Just in time for the newest crop of iPads, we’ve made Filters universal so you can now use it on all of your iOS devices and have it feel right at home on each and every one of them. If you’re into that multitasking sort of thing, Filters fully supports Split View. Yeah, we jump through tiny hoops because we love you.
To make Filters even more accessible, we’ve added a Photos editing extension. So you can now edit your Photos using Filters right from within the Photos app. To enable the Photos editing extension, you get to jump through a hoop (or five) yourself:
1. open the Photos App
2. select a photo and tap the “Edit” button
3. tap the (・・・) button to display more editing tools
4. swipe all the way to the right and tap the “More” button
5. switch on Filters as a photo editor
If you’ve got an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, you can use a 3D Touch Quick Action to quickly edit the last photo you’ve taken in Filters.
In addition to being able to remove all edits to a photo, we’ve added a new function where you can undo your last edit.
We’ve made a few little user interface improvements… like adding titles to the popup palettes to take a bit of the guesswork out of finding just the right filter for the job, and we’ve added a dash of pizzazz to the editing sliders.
And fitting for a big update is another mod to the app icon… which makes Filters feel even more at home in our ever expanding lineup of dark, rainbow-y app icons.
Lastly, we’ve squooshed a bunch of ornery bugs and fiddled with a few bits to increase the performance and responsiveness of the app.

• we’ve unified the sharing functionality so that all the things you’d want to do to your Filtered photos can be accessed from one handy place
• you’re now able to send photos from your favorite apps to Filters
• you can now send your Filtered photos directly to Camera+
• live sliders!
• and last but not least, there’s a shiny new icon that still has the look and feel of the original Filters icon but fits right in with all of our other app icons
