TYPE EFFORTLESSLY, ANYWHERE.
FlickType's universal design makes typing easy, fast, and comfortable — even on your Apple Watch!

SURPRISINGLY SMART.
Don't slow down or try to be accurate. Just tap where it feels right and FlickType's unique algorithm will find the correct word from the pattern of your taps.

FLICK TO EDIT
Delete or change entire words with a single flick of your finger. On Apple Watch you can also use the Digital Crown to change words, punctuation, or emoji.

FAST, EASY & FUN.
FlickType keyboard users type up to three times faster compared to the standard keyboard, Scribble, or even dictation after edits. Emoji, text shortcuts, and deep customization options make typing fluid and fun, just as it should be — even on your Apple Watch!

LIMITED VISION.
FlickType keyboard is designed to be as accessible as possible on both iPhone and Apple Watch, featuring large keys, high-contrast colors, prominent visuals, and effective VoiceOver feedback. FlickType can speak back to you for a completely eyes-free writing experience, enabling people who are blind to type just as fast as everyone else.

NOTE: Currently only English is supported.

• Dictionary improvements.
• Fixed some typing issues when using the half-screen mode.

• Added announcement when changing keyboard layouts (numbers, uppercase, lowercase etc).
• Removed "Dismiss" key setting - the dismiss key will now automatically appear when in "Full screen" mode only.
• Replaced "Done" button in "Settings" tab with a "Dismiss" button that only appears when editing the emoji shortcuts.
• Renamed "Demo" tab to "Type".
• Other bug fixes.
3.4 2018-10-27

3.2 2018-09-27
- Fixed erroneous alert "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" sometimes appearing when using the Upgrade screen.
3.1 2018-09-23
- Added a yearly subscription option. The Upgrade screen has also been redesigned and now supports Dynamic Type, which we aim to support in the rest of the container app in the future.
- Changes to the Welcome screen content.
3.0 2018-09-18
- Half screen mode now works with VoiceOver. Also introducing an additional "Minimal" keyboard height option.
- During a long press, the height of the top QWERTY row will now be the same as the bottom two rows. Exploring the area above the keyboard will read back your text. Tell us what you think!
- Some low-vision users asked us for a splash of color. The default black background can now be a simple vertical gradient with a color of your choice.
- If you are accidentally invoking the shift function when typing fast with multiple fingers, you can now disable it using the new "Multi-finger tap gestures" setting.
2.8 2018-08-28
- Container app: When exiting the app, the keyboard won't be dismissed.
- Container app: Added "Copy and Clear Text on Exit" function for easier frequent use.

Please always restart your device after updating FlickType, and send all your feedback to hello@flicktype.groups.io. Thank you!

What's new:
- New half-screen, direct-commit mode where all text changes are instantly reflected in the current text field. This currently only works for non-VoiceOver users due to iOS limitations, but we are still looking for ways to bring it to VoiceOver users as well.
- The "Next keyboard" key and setting will be hidden on devices that have a dedicated, always-present "Next keyboard" key (such as the iPhone X), or if FlickType is the only keyboard in the keyboard list.
- Bugfixes.

Previously:
- Reading back your text with a 3-finger press can now also be done with 2-fingers. This should also allow Accessibility Zoom users to utilize this feature, which previously conflicted with the zoom gestures.
- Words will now also be spelled after moving the cursor.
- Added voice feedback when VoiceOver is disabled.
- Add setting to toggle "Voice Feedback", enabled by default.
- You can now use your existing iOS text replacement shortcuts with FlickType. Configure text replacements from iOS Settings, General, Keyboard, Text Replacement. If you tap-type the shortcut, it will automatically be expanded into its phrase. If you type it accurately by touch-typing each letter, you'll need to flick down to expand it. Replacement shortcuts can only contain letters, but expanded phrases can be anything, including numbers, symbols, spaces, and even emoji. Be creative, smile! Please note: the replacements don't work inside the container app due to iOS limitations.

Thank you for supporting FlickType, and please tell your friends if you are enjoying it!

What's new:
- Restored the two missing buttons at the top of the Welcome tab, namely "Email support" and "flicktype.com". We encourage everyone to use them to get in touch with us or to find out more about the keyboard.

Previously:
- FlickType will now indicate the initial cursor position by announcing the current word.
- Keys will now be shown in the keyboard area by default. You can revert back to the previous high-contrast appearance from the settings.
- Added setting to enable blinking cursor.
- Visual tweaks to keyboard area when keys are hidden.
- Visual announcements will now take up more than one line if needed, rather than squeeze the announcement text all in one line by making the font extremely small.
- When reading back the typed text, it will now also be shown as a multiline visual announcement.
- When done reading back your text, the current cursor position will be announced.
- "System" announcements such as switching to numbers or invoking shift will now appear yellow and have a slightly higher pitch.
- Added a workaround setting for the WhatsApp crash, off by default. Enable "Reduced Height" in the settings only if you have been experiencing crashes with WhatsApp, and please let us know if the workaround helped.
- Removed confusing "Inactive" badge on Upgrade tab item.
- Added hint on how to change the preset emoji setting.

Thank you for using FlickType, and please make sure to leave us a review or tell your friends if you are enjoying it!

- Unwanted spaces around quotes will now be stripped.
- A space will now be inserted before the first typed emoji. No spaces will be inserted between consecutive emojis.
- Touch typing: last-moment key changes right before touching up are now ignored, to avoid accidentally entering characters adjacent to the intended one.
- Touch typing: character phonetic feedback will only be announced while exploring, but not once the character has been entered.
- Setting for "Visual Announcements" will now persist between sessions, and is also available in the Settings screen.
- Fixed settings screen appearing visually broken when accessibility values for "Large Text" are used. Thanks Harry!
- FlickType hints when the keyboard pops up will now be announced less frequently after the first three times.

Thank you for supporting FlickType. Help us spread the word, smile!
2.0.3 2018-07-06
Please always restart your device after updating FlickType, and send all your feedback to hello@flicktype.groups.io.
- Return key actions: Using the return key or the new line gesture on text fields with a return key label of "Search", "Done", "Go" or similar will trigger that action and dismiss the keyboard. Note that this will not yet work in the Mail app to switch between fields, since the return key label in that app is the default "Return" label. But searching in the Mail app should work as expected, same with searching in the App Store, Safari, Messages, Spotlight and others.
- Changed dismiss and next keyboard hints to mention the corresponding keys rather than the gestures.
- Changed default emoji shortcuts. If you have already customized your emojis, this will not affect you.
- Bugfixes
Thank you for supporting FlickType!

What's new in this version:

- Changed error messages of the custom keyboard when full access is not enabled or the subscription is inactive.
- Added startup alert to inform users that VoiceOver is required.
- Bugfixes

Please always restart your device after updating FlickType, and send all your feedback to hello@flicktype.groups.io.

- Fixed gesture issue where short flicks would sometimes be erroneously interpreted as long presses. Please let us know if you are still experiencing any gesture issues at all.
- Slightly increased the word spelling delay. We are trying to find a happy medium where you can leave the spelling setting turned on, and the spelling announcement doesn't get in the way of your regular typing flow.
- Fixed a rare text loss issue when adding text at the beginning of a non-empty textfield. Thanks David!

Warmly,
Kosta and Ashley
