Flikflix

First of all, we hope you and your families and friends are healthy and doing well during this crisis. Here are are a few things for you in this update:

• We've added a Home Premieres collection in the Movies section (please see our story about "Flikflix Gives").
• Fliking has been updated to allow you to add to your Watchlist and skip movies you aren't interested in.
• Search is much more robust
• We've added Redbox on Demand (Welcome Redbox!)
• We're also continuing to improve our algorithm to serve you the movies that fit you best.

Wow. This update has a ton of fixes and improvements. We'd love to tell you all about them. But, taking one more second to do so will delay getting in in your hands. So, we're just going to say, "Enjoy!"

The New Year gets some new updates! We fixed a few crashes that some people were experiencing, and the ONLY "Crash" we want people to experience is the movie starring Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Michael Peña, and Jennifer Esposito. Plus, this update also features the obligatory statement by all apps of "bug fixes and UI/UX improvements" (there were a bunch of boring ones).

As always, we know you always have a choice, and we thank you for choosing Flikflix, and helping to make it even more amazing with your feedback.

Apparently, our app was so excited about the TV Shows release that it was bitten by the "Acting Bug" — a great thing for people, not so good for apps. It had a bit of an identity crisis (which we limited to a few folks). In short, we took it off the stage. Gave it a beach-day to get it re-centered. Now it's back — revived and refreshed to serve you.

We're glad you tuned-in to our update. Introducing TV Shows, now on Flikflix! Get amazing recommendations for what to binge-watch next (and discover where your favorite shows are playing).
We've also given Watchlist the star treatment with its own section under the Watch tab and added some more of your favorite Providers like Disney+ and Apple TV+.

Happy November! Welcome to the month of hand-turkey drawings on the fridge and pumpkin pies inside. Here are some fresh-from-the-farm updates for you.
- SPOTLIGHT: We've made our stories a bit bolder. Yes, literally with "bolded" text (it's done on the server side, so a bit more complex than just hitting command-B). Special thanks to our amazing dev team for making this happen.
- NOTIFY: Now you'll see your Provider's names in bottom of the large "Notify" button to confirm which we'll notify you about when a movie that's not streaming on them becomes available for you.
- WEB: Tapping on a link in a Cast or Crew pages will keep you within Flikflix instead of driving you to a browser and having to find your way back.
- FLIK FLIX FIX: (try saying that three times fast) We fixed an issue where Fliking movies would continue to make it smaller like Lily Tomlin in The Incredible Shrinking Woman.
- MORE: There are also a number of small but important improvements such as image loading enhancements, Match names no longer truncated on iPad, seeing the number of unread alerts before open notification screen, fixed jittery content loading on Artist's pages and more.
- IPAD: All of the above fixes, plus infinite scroll added for your infinite scrolling pleasure.

All-new app. [A few] all-new bugs. Squished like the attack of a killer tomato.

Apparently our all-new app had some first-day jitters. The Production Assistant got it a skinny-latte (the Gaffer got it a shot to calm its nerves) now it's ready for its close-up.

We squashed a jealous bug that was preventing some people from making Matches.

Welcome to the Flikflix® app Official launch! This update includes Matchmaker™, a great tool to find the best movie to watch when it's more than just you watching.

Here are some other features:
• Apple TV: Better integration with our Apple TV app.
• Providers: You can now choose your favorite providers to instantly see if your movie is streaming on them.
• Streaming: We're surfacing the movies that are available at one of your preferred providers (or other providers) vs. none.

Happy Holidays! In this build we're introducing Flikflix Personalized Collections!!

If you've been Fliking regularly we'll reveal your Personal Holiday Collections.  

These Personalized Collections will be "Holiday movies you've Loved" (movies from Christmas past) and "Holiday movies you've not seen" (movies from Christmas yet to come), starring your favorite Actors. Any that you watch will be your Christmas Present.

But, don't fret, we won't be a Scrooge about it. You can still Flik and have your Personalized Holiday Collections revealed.

Here are a few more things for you to be thankful for in November..

1. ALGORITHM: We've modified our algorithm to show you more of your unseen movies (without having to search or filter for what you might like).
2. TIPS: We also wanted to give you a few tips. They're coming to you in the form of, well...actual tips. You'll see them in the "For You" section (They're more for the Flikflix novice, but helpful all the same).
3. GROUPS: We found a Group bug that wouldn't allow you to see the Group results from the person you just invited (they could see it, but you couldn't). Glad to say we've moved from Group bug to Group hug when you see all of the unseen movies that you and your family and friends will love to watch together.
4. GROUP POSTERS: Finally, this update includes a big UI change with Groups. We've literally made the posters much bigger and easier to view.

Happy September, everyone! This update has a fix for a bug where some passionate, amazing, I've-seen-every-movie-by-this-actor fans couldn't dismiss a competing alert for notifications. It was just tap, tap, tap. Sigh. Actually, we're the "sigh." I'm sure they had some other choice words. Our word to you is, sorry.  

We've also tweaked a few items to create a tiny bit of a better UI experience for you, such as removing the tab bar when you tap to go down a level with Groups, or Suggested Actors. Also, we've changed "Amzn Prime" to the more correct "Prime Video" ... you're welcome Mr. Bezos.

We hope you're loving Flikflix and finding great movies to watch! With this update, we've adjusted our Fliking notifications to help newbies (and those who have Fliked forever - well, at least the few months since we've launched).

We're also are calling out the "Unseen" button with a tooltip. It seems some people thought it might have been there for movies they didn't want to see. Yikes!

Oh! If you haven't already accepted to receive notifications, please do. We promise never to spam you. But, since we've built this nifty app without you ever having to login (thanks to Apple's amazing tech), the only way we can update you is if you accept notifications.

In the spirit of back-to-school, we decided to school our app a bit. We fixed a bug that was unfit for Groups (okay, we squashed it like a third-grader in science class). Also, as much as we love recommended Actors (and we do), we removed them from the tab bar at the bottom. You'll now find them under "Flik More" on the top right in the "For You" tab. Basically, we moved them from the hall to their very own cool-kids table. Flik on!

Hello again! Flikflix is back and ready for school with a fresher, cleaner, friendlier interface (and icon). But wait, there's more! Other notable updates include:

• FOR YOU: The icon formerly known as "Movies" has been changed to "For You." The movies that live here are all of your recommended and Unseen movies.
• SIMPLIFIED SEARCH: Search for Movies and Actors in one location on the tab bar!
• FLIK WITH ICONS: We've added handy-dandy icons that allow you to Flik with the ease of an icon tap. Don't worry, you can still Flik up, down, left and right if you wish.
• REDO: After Fliking a movie, "Redo" is now more prominent. Simply tap "Redo" to Flik the movie again.
• ALL MOVIES: In addition to Flikflix Picks (our recommended movies), you can search for ANY movie. Spoiler Alert: If you're in the mood for a great, bad movie (a non Flikflix Pick), Tommy Wiseau's The Room is still not streaming. Bummer.
• NOTIFICATIONS: Want to see a movie that's not yet available on your favorite video provider (like iTunes, Netflix or others)? Tap the "Notify" button, and we'll let you know when it's streaming there.
• FIND YOUR FAVORITES: Now you can filter all of your Fliked movies by Liked and Loved to watch them again!

We're continually working to make the app even better. We're pleased to announced that beginning with this release, we'll be able to keep in touch from time to time by notifying you about cool Flikflix Picks and more. Unsure if you can get notifications? Go to Actors. Select one and Flik their movies. You'll get a screen to enable notifications.  

Also, this update includes a minor bug fix for accepting a Group invite over AirDrop. And a small change in search that we hope will make it more clear when searching "Actors" or "Movies."

This is a small, but important, update that allows you to stay in touch when new movies with your favorite Actors are released. We've also tightened up the app by squashing a few bugs we found. We hope you enjoy!

It’s been said there are no small parts, only small actors. Well, this is a small update, and we’re embracing it. Stream on.

We fixed an issue that caused a crash for some people when tapping to add movies. On that note, if you haven't already seen it, Crash (2005) is a Flikflix Pick and it's the only Crash we like to see in our app. If you love Sandra Bullock, Don Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Michael Peña or Jennifer Esposito, it's a suggestion for you as well.

Also, if you have Flikflix for Apple TV, we've made getting Movie Tickets from your TV EVEN BETTER! Now, when you tap on the "Tickets" button, you and your friends (or family) will EACH get an invite to the movie you've tapped. They simply open Flikflix on their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and tap the invite. Then, everyone can see showtimes, and more, together and make the best decision as to when to go to the movies. Yeah, we just did that.

We're thrilled at the great feedback we're getting from everyone. Thank you! Now, here's something more for you:

SHARE & CHER ALIKE: We love our new "Share" feature as much as we love Cher in Moonstruck ("Snap out of it!"). If you LOVE a movie and want to tell others on social media, just copy and paste the link for your friends. No app needed for them to see a preview and where it's streaming tonight. We've got you babe.

HELP: We've also added an info button on each section to provide a quick video tutorial so that Flikflix is even easier to navigate.

We added quick tips on how to Flik (May the Flik be with you). Also, some minor performance improvements. Yes, we’re getting ready for our close-up Mr. DeMille.
