About French Verb Blitz
Learn and practise French verbs with this interactive verb reference and drill tool. With over 180 core verbs, French Verb Blitz is a clear and effective way to refresh and revise your grammar skills as well as expand your everyday vocabulary.
As well as a verb reference, there is a set of intensive verb drill activities to quiz your conjugation knowledge, including:
- Infinitive quiz: do you know the meaning of the each verb?
- Conjugation quiz: can you select the correct verb form for the English translation?
- Snap quiz: can you spot when the French and English sentences match? Try to get ten in a row!
- Gapfill: can you spell out the missing word in the conjugated sentence?
In the settings, you can select which tenses to drill in the games. So whether you're a beginner, or already on the way to mastery, there's a level for you.
The app will track your scores throughout the games, so you can check in the Performance section at any time to see the entries you're finding trickiest.
The verbs selected represent some of the most commonly used French words, so French Verb Blitz is a great way to increase and practise your everyday vocabulary, too.

Grammatical info tags are now included alongside the English translation prompt in the Conjugation Quiz, giving tense, person and number hints. Now you can give those verbs a good technical drilling independent of the translation! We've added a slider setting for the Snap Game so you can play at a slower pace, or even manic speed (a second per flip!) if you like. You'll find it in the Settings section of the app. Happy learning!

A couple of brand new features in this release. To start with, you can now adjust the timing of the multiple choice games in the app settings. Give yourself a full sixty seconds per answer to wind down the stress, or crank the speed up to just two seconds per answer. Your call! Also, we've added the learning set "10 Essential Verbs" as a play option, so you can really drill those fundamentals. Thanks to all our users for sending great feedback and suggestions. This update corrects an issue on some iOS versions where the Infinitive Quiz failed to start properly. Thanks to the user who spotted and reported that bug. We've also added a few seconds to the multichoice quiz timer while we work on a custom option for that in the settings. We like a challenge, but ten seconds was maybe a little too stingy for some of the more demanding tenses! Happy learning!

We've added a couple more verbs to the bank! This time it's a handful more tricky -yer verbs, which swap their -y- for an -i- in some parts of their conjugation. Also, a couple of niggling bugs have been squished, namely with the text-to-speech in some verb parts. Happy learning!
