Geisinger Peds Emergency Guide Description
The PEDS Emergency Guide App allows users to access an interactive version of the Geisinger, Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Emergency and Trauma Guide. This app is used during the assessment and treatment of pediatric emergencies. It includes pediatric trauma assessment, resuscitation guidelines, emergency medications, pediatric CPR metronome, a burn calculator, and approaches to common medical emergencies.
By entering the patients age, weight, and/or height in the app, medication dosages and equipment sizes can be rapidly accessed. Workflow algorithm charts are also included, showing the trauma decision scheme, and criteria for identification of major pediatric trauma. Using the most current American heart Association (AHA) guidelines, users have access to pediatric BLS, pediatric cardiac arrest, pediatric tachycardia, and pediatric bradycardia algorithms.
