GPS Tracking: Version 4.0.9
This update is primarily focused on optimizing performance, enhancing map interactions, and improving the stability of our real-time location services.
Key Feature Enhancements
Quick Follow Driver Card (New UI):
Tapping any tracked vehicle/asset on the map now immediately presents the new, streamlined Driver Card.
View critical data at a glance: Live Speed, Ignition Status, and Device Battery Level with one-tap access to both Street View and detailed Travel History.
Enhanced Geofencing Flexibility:
Improved control over geofence alerts. Users can now set custom notification triggers (e.g., alert only if vehicle is inside the zone for more than 5 minutes, or outside for more than 10 minutes).
Historical Track Playback Controls:
The History Playback feature now includes variable speed controls (1x, 2x, 4x, 8x) to quickly analyze long routes or slow down to review critical events.
Performance and Stability Improvements
Real-Time Data Latency Reduction: Implemented significant backend and mobile client optimizations to further reduce the delay (latency) in receiving live location updates. Expect more accurate, near-instantaneous tracking.
Lower Mobile Battery Consumption: Optimized the background GPS polling service to use system resources more efficiently, resulting in less battery drain on devices running the tracker app, especially during long tracking periods.
Map Rendering Speed: Improved the loading and rendering speed of high-density data on the main map screen, making the user interface feel much snappier when scrolling or zooming.
Bug Fixes (Build 81)
Time Zone Discrepancy Fix: Resolved a critical bug that caused historical trip reports to incorrectly display timestamps when users were located in time zones with daylight saving time offsets. All time stamps are now accurate and correctly localized.
Connectivity Interruption Resilience: Fixed an issue where the app would temporarily stop sending location updates after a brief loss of cellular network (e.g., in a tunnel). The tracking service now recovers instantly and reliably once the connection is restored.
Minor UI Polish: Addressed several small display issues reported by users in the Settings and Alerts configuration screens.
