About Herdly
Herdly for iOS lets you sync with your Herdly ranch account so you can work with all your ranch data while you are out with your cattle. All your ranch information is available when you are offline and any new information you enter will be synced once you are back online. A Herdly account will work with any number of iOS devices and computers, giving you the ability to have access to your data in the office and out in the field. You can also test Herdly with a Demo Ranch to see how it works.
We’ve packed a lot of features into Herdly, including:
- Use filters and searching to quickly find an animal or sort using many criterias (advanced filters and sortings)
- Actions for calving, weaning, diagnosing disease, treatments, preg checking, matings, exposures, movements... and much more!

- Herdly can now automatically submit CCIA events (whether they are created automatically or manually) for you. Herdly also handles additional CCIA event fields such as vehicle ID, that may be required in proposed legislation for tracing cattle movements. These fields are handled automatically where possible. They show up in the New Animal action, Move Animals action, Remove From Herd action, and the New CCIA Event action.
- The New Animal action will now trigger the creation of a CCIA event if the newly created animal has an RFID tag and a location with a premise ID.
- The Settings > Locations screen now shows the CCIA premise ID associated with the each location, making it easier to look up a premise ID if you need to give it to someone.
- When choosing a sire, an exposure bull, a dam, etc., it could be difficult to find the animal you wanted because calves were listed among the adult animals. We've made a change so that the listed animals to choose from have a classification of either "Cow" or "Bull", depending on the context.
- Herdly gets its list of drugs from the Compendium of Veterinary Products. A few of these drugs do not have a defined withdrawal period. A bug caused animals given these drugs to have weird withdrawal dates far into the future. This has been fixed.

The first one automatically detects if the default calving year is incorrect and offers to change it for you when you use the New Calf action. The second one gives you the option, turned on by default, to automatically moved calves when you move cows, even if they aren’t selected. We hope this will save time and headaches!
We also fixed a bug which made it impossible to save edit type actions from the Animal History screen when running iOS 13. And we made some internal changes to ensure Herdly continues to work well when submitting events to CCIA.

Herdly now supports connection to several commercial RFID readers such as the Allflex RS420 and LPR or the Tru-Test SRS2 and XRS2 that are Bluetooth MFi compatible.
We also added support for the SerialIO BlueSnap Smart Bluetooth Adapter to allow Herdly to connect to many non Bluetooth readers (such as the Tru-Test SRS or XRS)
Simply look at the Settings tab > RFID Reader screen to connect to your RFID reader.
Scanning animal tags has never been so easy!
