HIIT (high intensity interval training) involves short bursts of high intensity exercises interspersed with short recovery periods.
Research has proved HIIT to be much more effective than moderate intensity cardiovascular exercise at increasing metabolism, burning calories, reducing weight and body fat, and increasing speed, strength and endurance.
The app incorporates all the standard features you would expect in a HIIT workout including timed sessions and next exercise prompts. The app also includes a stand alone HIIT Timer which some users find useful.
In workout features:
There are a number of workout features including the guided warm-up and cool down;
- HIIT timer,
- Audible 3-2-1 countdowns into announced next exercise in the workout (when you're working out its useful to not have to always be looking at the screen)
- An animated gif (repeating video) of the exercise you are on as well as a visual prompt of the next exercise in the workout.
- Also included is a range of workout music, the warm-up and cool-down music which have tempos adjusted to aid these essential pre and post workout movements.
Our library of streamable instruction videos help you understand the various exercises that are arranged into preprepared workout sessions according to your current fitness levels and abilities. Simply select a workout and get started or choose an 8 week challenge, a great way to get motivated and stuck in.
We understand some users may wish to tailor their own workouts, the app enables you to do just that. Arrange exercises into workouts you require, set the duration and number of reps of the exercise. If you find a specific exercise is not currently in the app we encourage our family of app users to request new exercises to be added via the Facebook group. The library of exercises is constantly being updated and we prioritise new exercise requests from our users.
The sharing code feature enables you to share your created workouts with others. Simply send them the code and they can input it into their app to benefit from your personalised tailored workout. The preprepared workouts also have sharing codes if you want to share a workout you have done with another user simply and quickly. In addition the app allows you to easily copy and edit existing workouts so you can tweak an existing workout to meet your personal preferences.
HIIT Revolution includes a point scoring system which enables you to set and monitor how you are getting on towards achieving your points goal for the week or 8 week challenge points goal.
The app records your workout history and tracks your points. Also track your weight and how you found each workout. These features help provide an overview of your progress towards the balanced you you've always wanted.
HIIT Revolution is free to download and contains free content such as a timer.
Subscriptions start from £4.99 per month. Subscription payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period. This will be charged at the same rate as the initial subscription. Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription to HIIT Revolution
