Hindu Calendar Description
Hindu Calendar provides an handy, easy-access version of your traditional print-copy calendar on your iOS device. It provides a look-n-feel of traditional calendars that we all have been using for years. Based on Hindu Panchang, it distinctly marks out Thithis for every day, fasting days such as Sankashti, Ekadashi, Shivrathri, and so on. Major Hindu festivals and holidays are prominently displayed on the calendar.

The calendar itself is available in four language editions - English, Marathi, Gujarathi, and Hindi. The latest updates to the calendar also include day/night Chogadiya, Rahu Kaal, Sunrise/set times, Moon rise/set times, Karan, Nakshatra, and Tamilian Gowri Panhangam for your local region. These are computed accurately using Astronomical algorithms for the longitude / latitude set in your App.

The calendar still retains data for 2012 year. The 2013 data up to the current month is available free to you. For example, if the current calendar month is March in year 2013, the calendar for the entire March, 2013 and all earlier months can be viewed free. Subsequently, on April 1st, the calendar for April 2013 becomes free for viewing. However, if you need to look up future months today, then we request you to do an in-app purchase to enable the viewing of the entire 2013 year, obviously up to December 2013.

Carry this important calendar in your pocket everyday through your iOS device.

NOTE: The recent update (6.0) has several additional features which you would like to read in "What's new"

6.0 2013-06-25
This is a major update to our very widely used app. The calendar is now fully localized to your place of stay. Unlike earlier versions where the data on the calendar pages was static and localized to Mumbai, India, in the new version the data on each page is dynamically generated. Thus, you can quickly look up the sunrise/set times and moon rashi (sign) for your hometown without opening the popover dialog like in the earlier versions.

Another major addition is a search facility. Now, you can search for all major/minor events throughout the year. For example, to know when Dipavali comes, just type Dipavali in the search event and it will show up the date for Dipavali. Likewise, you will be able to find the dates on which Amayasa, Poornima, Sankasti, and so on lie on every month.

Removing the static graphic images has also brought down the application size considerably saving the valuable space on your device.

The finger-swipe page curl is now back in both iPad and iPhone versions. You can also finger-tap on the page edges to turn the pages. The pinch-n-zoom is back in iPhone version.

Note that, due to heavy dynamic computations, turning pages may take a while on slower older devices.
5.3 2013-02-15
Tamil Gowri Panchangam and Hindu Panchang added for iPad version.

Now onwards, every month the calendar for the current month along with all previous months will be available free.
5.2.3 2013-01-10

* The computations of night Choghadiya in iPhone version of the app were wrong - now corrected.

* The current day highlight marking was displayed on the wrong day in some situations in iPad version of the app - now corrected.
5.2.2 2012-12-21
A list of 225+ pre-defined city names added for your convenience of inputting location information. Now, you can obtain the exact sunrise/sunset, Choghadiya, and Rahu Kal specific to your location.
