About Hygiene Index
Hygiene Index (HI) is one of the programs under DBSI and focuses on assessing the current hygiene status across India. HI comprehensively evaluates the city’s hygiene conditions by focusing on six sectors having an impact on the hygiene conditions of a city namely- water, sewerage, solid waste management (SWM), toilet, health and behaviour change communication (BCC), collectively called as the hygiene sectors.
