A happy new year to everybody. You know our fireworks - but still we'd like to start with a bang: Discotainment 2.0 - the next leap for Discotainment!
If you tried it before and wanted more: Give it a fresh try!
Beat stabilizer
It does what it says - and more. It can hold the tempo when there's a short loss of the beat, and it can predict beats.
What does this Voodoo magic do, you ask? Well, it means that effects are now more in time with your beats - because we can compensate the delay when recording via microphone.
This is our new year's present to you - it's automatically there for everybody!
Note: We still recommend Electronic and Pop music with clear bass line for this to work best.
Pulsate effect
A new effect that just looks great - lights alternating brightness with the beat, especially when combined with other effects (more on that right after this). Choose the desired minimum and maximum brightness via slider.
(Available for every Member or w/ 2023 upgrade)
Automatic effect mode
Now we have so many effects - what if I don't want to be stuck at my phone all time?
"Automatic" is the answer - iConnectHue can now play different effects over time, ready with sliders for you to choose how much you want from each one, and how often (in beats) they should happen.
If you set "Pass through" to 0%, you solely use beats for light control, and other disturbances like speech won't have any effect anymore.
This is now available for every Member.
Don't have a Membership yet? Please try it! But even if you don't, our new Disco Scene set lets you use the new effects (without editing capability).

New Disco Scene set
"From Disco to Disco" is our new Disco Scene set, with handcrafted Disco Scenes for every mood and party, and it employs the new possibilities of Discotainment, for everybody.

Pro Members rejoice, you don't have to have your iPhone by your hands all the time - you can start/stop Discotainment and choose your active Disco Scene via your wrist!
Note: Due to privacy restrictions set by Apple, starting Discotainment can only be done with iConnectHue open on the iPhone.

We've prepared some interesting additions for you. In detail:
Hue Contact Sensor support
iConnectHue is the first 3rd party app to support for the new Hue Contact Sensor! Due to the way it is offered by Philips to work with it we are currently a bit limited in what we can offer with it. This means you currently can configure up to 3 rooms OR 1 zone OR your home, with switch, scene or Magic Scene actions. Alternations are currently not possible, but you're able to set the off timer down to 10 seconds instead of a minute.

Specific time sensor disabling
You can now set a time of up to 24 hours manually to disable a specific sensor, instead of being limited to the available preset times. Currently, timed disabling is not possible with the Hue Contact Sensor, where only manual toggling is possible.

Due to feedback we've added a tabular view to the home view. On the iPhone, simply select the menu (...), when you're in group overview, then select the tabular view. On the iPad, the tabular view is available as a sidebar for quick access & quick jump. There, simply press the sidebar button left to the menu to show/hide it.

The brand new Pro light startup mode wizard makes your life easier! It allows you to set the startup mode (after power interruption) for multiple lights in batch mode, and to define in which mode newly added lights should be automatically configured with.
Note that for the latter to work, you'll need to always search lights within iConnectHue!

Single shot timers
Single shot timers for lights and groups allow you to create a timer that is only started once - either today (if later than current time), or tomorrow (if earlier). It currently is only available without conditions like presence or group-on state. Simply switch the "repeats" button to off in the editor to enable it. Timers will delete themselves after they activated.

4.14: Color Explosion!
This is our biggest release this year! We've made iConnectHue color-correct, meaning as long as your display can show a light's color, it should be the same on both. If iConnectHue knows a light, it will show you the appropriate color picker with all its colors the light is capable of.
Also Magic Scenes, Animations and Disco Scenes can be now more colorful and have nicer looking gradients both on screen and on lights.
These changes are included for everybody! Additionally, we have these improvements:
GRADIENT COLOR PICKER
The best color picker for Hue! So far, we offered Magic Scenes to control Gradient lights and light groups to have gradients, now you can have easy, always perfect looking gradients for Gradient lights and light groups at your fingertips!
Select a gradient mode in your picker to the top left, then use the cursor to move around - all other color points will follow. You can adjust several of the modes with the thicker white cursor and narrow, widen or even invert the gradient.
With the 2022 Upgrade, you'll have the blend picker available, with a membership you'll also get these: Analogous, Complementary, Split, Triadic, Tetradic. These are all different ways to generate harmonic gradients, without the hassle to always adjust multiple colors one after each other.
FESTAVIA DIFFUSE MODE
Delivered Magic scenes without gradient (Membership/2022 Upgrade) and the color picker triadic and tetradic mode (Membership) will automatically put your Festavia lights to the diffuse mode - letting them represent what these modes were thought for.
RELATIVE BRIGHTNESS
Changing the brightness in light groups will now change each light's brightness individually instead of putting them all to the same brightness (Membership or 2022 Upgrade).
MAGIC SCENES FROM GRADIENTS AND PICTURES
You can now create Magic Scenes from a gradient via our new gradient picker, or from pictures (Membership).
We are also especially proud of our from picture mode, as it works color-correct, with high gamut images, and has been optimized to pick those colors you actually perceive as being a significant color of the image.
COPY & PASTE COLORS/GRADIENTS (PRO)
You can now easily copy & paste colors and gradients between color pickers in iConnectHue. The iOS clipboard is being used - meaning you can also bring in colors from the outside. It usually works in CIE (XY) mode, but is capable of understanding/pasting Hex color values as well.
CIE PICKER (PRO)
Our Pro users can now use a CIE color picker instead of the normal one - this is the mode Hue lights usually work in. The individual light's gamut (the colors the light is capable of) will be shown as a limiting triangle.
BETTER FAVORITE / INCLUDED COLORS
We've updated the included colors to reflect those delivered with the Hue app. "Evening light" is now "Bright".
Pro: iConnectHue can guess a color's name and will suggest it when saving it as a favorite. Also you can now opt to save the brightness with a favorite instead of just saving the color itself.
SHOW TEMPERATURE AND COLOR VALUES (PRO)
Pro users can now opt to show the color temperature and XY color value when using the pickers. You can enable this in the color picker options menu.

We've added support for the brand new Hue Tap Dial Switch and improved the Watch app. These are the changes:
** Hue Tap Dial Switch support **
The new Hue Tap Dial Switch is supported, and with it, all the great features our switch editor provides:
• Use it with many alternations, like group-on-state, multiple presses, by daylight, by time, by week(end)
• Use Magic scenes, Scenes, Animations, timers, group/light switches and more
• Use the wizard to set it up, or set it up as you like
If you have Pro, your first switch will automatically be set up to have the right color temperature depending on day and night, every switch toggles a different temperature. Long pressing turns off all your lights, rotate right to switch on, rotate to adjust brightness.
As its integration was quite work for us, in development and testing as well as for our designer, its support is available with the 2022 upgrade or included, if you have a Membership.

Our brand new "Happy new yeah!" animation package can help you - for a fraction of the price of real fireworks, and it works without any limitations! This new package adds some great animations you haven't seen before.

Since version 4.9.3: There's a new outdoor motion sensor with "hue" added on the top instead of just saying "Philips".

Gradient support
We are proud to present you full gradient lights support - and EVERY type of them! You can apply Magic Scenes to individual Gradient lights with a single tap, as well as in the group - which still puts a gradient on your gradient lights (you can disable this in the settings, if you wish so). In addition to this, you can now create and use scenes with gradients all over the app - for timers, switches and coming/leaving, for example! Drag & drop between gradient lights works as well to transfer a gradient. The Pro light migration wizard to replace old lights with new ones supports them. You can use them in your widget as well as in Siri Shortcuts.
Halloween animations for members
Since several of you asked, we extended the availability of our Halloween scenes until mid December, and we will now make available Halloween scenes for our members over the full year! Of course they will be available the next Halloween for everybody else, as you know it.
Apple Family Sharing for Pro
From now on you can share your Pro membership easily via Apple Family Sharing. As consequence, the old sharing via Airdrop is not available any longer. New motion sensor supported
There's a new motion sensor with "hue" added on the top instead of just saying "Philips". It has more sensitivity levels and can "see" further - 5 instead of 7 metres. It also has IP 42 level of protection.

iConnectHue now uses new functions of your Hue bridge, enabling it to show changes to your lights and devices almost immediately! This was quite some work (it actually allowed Gradient Discotainment), and more will follow for us, since we'll need to update the whole iConnectHue to be compatible with future bridge firmwares.
(Available for all members or w/ 2021-Upgrade)
For the same reasons, we don't support the old round bridge any longer officially - meaning we can't guarantee functionality with it! Good news, everyone: iConnectHue now supports the brand new Hue Wall Switch module!
Beginning now you can set up you Wall Switch Module with all of iConnectHue's capabilities. Since we wished the module to be capable to do more we taught it more:
• You can set up up to 5 instead of 3 slots
• You toggle on/off even if there is another alternation already set up (the group-on-state alternation currently must be set up last!)
• In case of a rocker switch, you can decide by yourself whether to toggle off between steps or at end
• Many functions can be set up even quicker by the wizard
• It uses less resources when set up with iConnectHue
Because of the module we reworked our switch editor in many places significantly, so you can toggle on/off and have other actions at the same time on the same switch. Since we thought this might be handy also for other single button switches, we offer this functionality for the Hue Smart Button and Lutron Aurora as well.
We invested a lot of effort and time into these new functions, therefore we offer them in the "2021 Upgrade", which combines current and other small improvements of this year into one handy package. As always, these new functions are included for our members as well as for our recent customers who bought iConnectHue recently - back to 1st of March 2021. For clearer overview, we renamed the existing "Level 1 Upgrade" to "2020 Upgrade".
Pro Improvements
Our Pro members can now easily change the group brightness when in group overview.

We start into a new year full of hopes. You don't need a special hope for new devices for us though - we now support the new Hue Dimmer V2, as the first 3rd party Hue app, right in time when it's starting to market! Our graphician did her best and created a nice new graphic of it, and we for ourselves teached the wizard new tricks, so you can set it up with just a few taps and as you'd expect it from its new layout. Please note that this switch may not be available immediately in your region. Its release date is January 26 in Europe and March 2 in North America.

Exclusive longpress
You can now enable Hue Dimmer, Smart Button and Lutron Aurora to handle your long press actions exclusively - so that on long press, the short press actions aren't activated. Just go to the long press actions and activate the long press to be exclusively.
Light migration wizard (Pro)
Have an old light you'd like to replace with a new one, but it's complicated?
The wizard can transfer the old light's settings for all your groups, scenes, widget, name and and startup mode settings, as well as timers. Simply go to the lights, and press the wizard button on the top left to start the process.
If you migrate from an old light with limited colors, iConnectHue will recalculate your scenes so the new lights have the same colors!
Scene cleanup
Are you at your bridge scenes limit?
In your bridge settings you can now clean up scenes to make space of this precious resource. Tick the type of scenes you’d like to clean up and let it run. The resources page now also lists available scenes.
Widget entry renaming
You can now name your widget items the way you want. Long press a name in the table below your items and name it. Deleting the name returns to the automatically generated name.
Make your spacers a headline to sort your widget - they can be named as well and become a headline once named.
If you have Pro and hence the Widget available on your watch, the names will be there as well.
Multiple daylight timers per group
If you want to split sunrise and sunset actions for week and weekends, or want to switch between multiple settings by enabling/disabling them, you can now do so. Each group now allows for multiple daylight timers.

Random scene shake
Shake in your scene, Magic Scene or animation view to activate a random scene!
Also: Once you've activated a Magic Scene, tap on the icon to randomize it.

You can now name your widget items the way you want. Long press a name in the table below your items and name it. Deleting the name returns to the automatically generated name.
Make your spacers a headline to sort your widget - they can be named as well and become a headline once named.
If you have Pro and hence the Widget available on your watch, the names will be there as well.
Multiple daylight timers per group
If you want to split sunrise and sunset actions for week and weekends, or want to switch between multiple settings by enabling/disabling them, you can now do so. Each group now allows for multiple daylight timers.

Exclusive longpress
You can now enable Hue Dimmer, Smart Button and Lutron Aurora to handle your long press actions exclusively - so that on long press, the short press actions aren't activated. Just go to the long press actions and activate the long press to be exclusively.
Light migration wizard (Pro)
Have an old light you'd like to replace with a new one, but it's complicated?
The wizard can transfer the old light's settings for all your groups, scenes, widget, name and and startup mode settings, as well as timers. Simply go to the lights, and press the wizard button on the top left to start the process.
If you migrate from an old light with limited colors, iConnectHue will recalculate your scenes so the new lights have the same colors!

We've added support for it. And when we say "support", this means you can fully find and manage this device with iConnectHue, in all its details!
It supports short and long press like the Hue Dimmer on its switch, and the middle button can be configured like any other switch. Up to five actions can be done per press or rotation, so up to 5 groups are possible.
As you know from other devices, you can do these things with the middle button:

Welcome to the new age of voice commands - Siri Shortcuts! These allow you to connect any of the following actions taken in iConnectHue to be started by Siri:
• Scenes, Magic Scenes, colors and animations
• Light on/off, group/room off

Welcome to the new age of voice commands - Siri Shortcuts! These allow you to connect any of the following actions taken in iConnectHue to be started by Siri:
• Scenes, Magic Scenes, colors and animations

Old automation users please note: The old automation is not available any longer. Please migrate to the new one, it's much more powerful!
Please also note: This version comes with an updated Terms of Use. It doesn't change much over the last one you already agreed to upon first installation or an update a year ago, and only reflects what has been practice over the last time and updates information about the services that are being used. The services nor their usage have changed themselves. There's nothing that can't be improved - iConnectHue brings you new innovative functions and an overall improved app:
• A brand new watchOS 3 app
• Motion sensor temperature display in the widget
• Interrupt your motion sensor with switches, combine two of them
• Improved animations, great animation packages "Spring awakening" and "Bring in nature"
• Improvements in the switch editor - you can now use day/night instead of fixed times on your motion sensor and a group on toggle for switches
• New light fixture suggestions
• An optimized app and widget
