- New Hours of Rest Checker. This will check whether an individual’s rosters and/or actual hours worked are in compliance with any national hours of work and rest regulations that opted to implement regulations to provide minimum hours of rest in accordance with ILO 180 (now incorporated in the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006). In summary, these state that whatever hours a seafarer works, he or she shall have the following minimum rest: (1) 10 hours in any 24-h period; (2) 77 hours in any 7 days. The hours of rest may be divided into no more than two periods, one of which shall be at least six hours in length, and the interval between consecutive periods of rest shall not exceed 14 hours.
