Process Guide

This app provides a map for your process improvement journey, as well as some helpful tips and reminders.

The map follows Catalyst's proven eight-step process improvement method.

As with any journey, you won't always need the map, but it's a comfort to know you've got one, and you can follow the step by step process that enables you to make improvements in a systematic way.

At each step you'll find a number of questions to consider and answer. These will help keep you on track. In answering the main questions, consider the questions and prompts in the margin. Answering every question will almost certainly be unnecessary, but there may be some other questions you'll need to frame.

Remember, that different problems may need different tools. And some problems may not need a formal approach. Tailor things to suit your particular problem and experience, but do make sure you take a systematic approach and avoid the pitfalls of jumping to conclusions and solutions. It's too easy to trip up en route, though there may be opportunities to safely skip through some of the steps quite quickly.

You'll see that the journey is broken from time to time to take stock of progress. These reviews are an essential element in ensuring success.

Finally, remember the need to keep people up to date with progress and what's planned.
