A seeker of Truth from his early years, his search led him to an extensive study of both Indian and Western philosophy but as he said, ‘still the key was missing’. His quest ended after he read the ‘Life Divine’ by Sri Aurobindo while he was doing his Masters in Philosophy and Law in Bombay. He finally moved to Pondicherry so that he could single-mindedly study and practice the Integral yoga of Sri Aurobindo.

For the next twenty years he remained engaged in yogic practice and intensive study of the works of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother as well as the vast literature of Indian and Western Philosophy, history and culture. A new system of Integral Education based on Sri Aurobindo’s Philosophy on Education had taken shape and it came to be admired by both Indian and Western educationists. Kireet Joshi played an important role in its development and was instrumental in spreading its message both in India and abroad. He was a professor at the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education where he taught Integral Philosophy, Integral Psychology and Indian culture. He taught students at various levels - Kindergarten, primary, secondary, graduation and post-graduation.

He was appointed Educational Advisor to the Government of India specially to create a new dimension of value-education in the entire education system of the country. Extraction of Yogic knowledge from the Vedic Samhitas, Upanishads and the Bhagavadgita and linking it right upto the Yoga of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother has been the central focus of his research work.

He has penned numerous books - on the life of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, on teacher’s training, Indian Culture with give an excellent introduction to its richness, Physical, Vital and Mental Education, Philosophy, Synthesis of Yoga and other allied themes.

Apart from that there is a goldmine of lectures given by him (audio & video) on Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, Sri Aurobindo’s Life Divine, Synthesis of Yoga, Upanishads, Vedas and the Bhagavad Gita and renaissance of India.
