What's New in the Latest Version 1.44

Last updated on Nov 19, 2013
Old Versions
on iOS11, download Voicepaper 2 https://itunes.apple.com/app/id1273954643.

*Why Voicepaper 2?
Hi, I had been updating the original Voicepaper and Lisgo until iOS6 era, and since iOS7 came out, I couldn't update it because of iOS7 bugs technical reasons. Since then, I couldn't update it and stopped updating it because of tech, voice engine contracts, and cost reasons.

Since then, I'd been paying the Voice engine fees and only doing user support, but a lot of people still keep downloading Voicepaper and Lisgo even though they are old iOS6 eran apps.

in 2017, I decided to develop a new text to speech app from a scratch using a different voice engine for Voicepaper and Lisgo users by combining Pocket, Evernote and Dropbox supports.

Finally, in Sep 2017, I could release Voicepaper 2 just before iOS11 release.
It supports 25 languages with male and female voices without additional purchases, and you can edit pronunciations too.

Speaking of voice engine, if I use enhanced voices, I personally like it better than the previous Voicepaper and Lisgo ones.

Because the previous Voicepaper and Lisgo had one-time purchase payment, please understand that you need to pay again to use Voicepaper 2 so that I can keep it developing in the future.

Hello, this is a big update for Lisgo.

@Auto Language Detection
@Voice Speed Customization
@Bug fixes

In this version, I want to introduce two important feature additions for Lisgo Plus users.

First, the auto language detect feature switches languages based on the text you load automatically.

Now, you don't need to go to settings every time you want to change voice language.

Also, it saves voice speeds for each language, so you can set different voice speeds for several language voices.

Next, you can customize voice speed more. For example, sometimes you want to use faster voice speed than x3. You can do it now.

Other than that, this version fixes the issue that you could not change voice speed in some situation at v1.20. A few crash issues also have been fixed.

Enjoy!

Hello, this update has changes for free users.

First, the free speech limit has changed to 15 minutes a day, but previous users who used additional free speech time bonus can use them again.

Second, I removed ads displayed for free users completely.

That is because implementing ads itself was one of reasons for unexpected crashes, and I decided to change the business model based on upgrading payment only.

Last, downloading voice file can be done in the background so that users are not forced to wait at an one screen.

Hi, this update has two big changes.

1.Lisgo handles deleted items from Pocket when reloading.
2.Removed the confirm button on right swiping to archive.

1.
Several people complained about the lack of the feature, but Pocket API doesn't support detecting deleted items on refreshing.

So, I decided to refresh all items to handle that when you reload items. Only down side is that list order will be refreshed too, but speaking and reading positions remain on each items.

2.
I made the confirm button not to archive items by mistake, but for most people, it is just annoying and prevents you to archive items quickly. So, I decided to remove the function.

This is the big design choices, and I took time before exciting them, but I believe this is good ones in the end.
Other than that, I fixed several minor issues.

As always, if you like Lisgo, I'd appreciate it if you recommend it to others on the Review Lisgo of Settings.

Thank you!

Hello there, this is Non.

Recently, I am working on an app which is similar to Lisgo, but for long articles or books.

My dream is to make it easy to switch between reading and listening, then make reading itself easy for everyone.

Lisgo is one step for this, but Lisgo is optimized for short web articles, so I've been developing a new app from the scratch.

Anyway, this update fixes several crush issues which occurred sometimes, but there are not so many changes in UI parts.

I would like to answer several questions or requests from the recent store review here.

from Fwdkfwdkfwdk
"Lisgo sometimes shows articles in the queue even though they aren't in Pocket"

Sorry, Lisgo reload articles which archived in Pocket when you reload articles within Lisgo, but it doesn't handle articles which deleted in Pocket. This is related to the limit of Pocket API.

"The iPad app could be more well thought out. You can't rotate the iPad app in landscape. It could use a sidebar/text split navigation in landscape."

I have to admit that I am not taking so much time on iPad version, even though Lisgo is universal. I am taking more time on iPad part for the next app, and I might be able to reuse these codes for Lisgo in the future.

from Joewolf312
"It could improve flow and pronunciation."

I'm using the third party text to speech engine for Lisgo, so basically I can't improve the speech part myself, sorry. However, pronunciation is very important part for text to speech app, so I've been thinking about good solutions.

Thanks for downloading Lisgo again, as always, I would appreciate it if you could write your feedback or requests on the App Store Review.

Regards,

Hi, this is Non.

In Tokyo, it's getting warmer little by little and I can't wait for spring to come now.

My macbook air was so cold when I was coding in winter, so I hope spring makes me
work more on developing. :)

Anyway, there are 4 important changes on this update.

1 Double tap the text to start playing

You used to long press the text and choose "select" to start playing from the text you want, now it's much easier.

You just double tap the text and that's all.

2 Additional Voice Speed

If you keep using Lisgo, you get used to the fastest speed easily.

So, I added 2.5x speed in this version and made the speed of 3x much faster.

Nowadays, I am using 2.5x and 3x personally.

3 Ads position for free users changed

Ads position has been moved to the list screen from the text screen.

It also shows admob or iAd ads from this version, so hopefully it can earn some penny to support the sever cost on Lisgo.

4 Restore feature

Now, you can restore your previous in-app purchases easily from settings when you switched your iOS devices and activate your Lisgo Plus or voice language downloads again.

Thanks for using Lisgo, and I'd appreciate it if you could write your wishes or feedbacks on Lisgo at the App Store Review.

Thanks,

Non
