Reading Mode: Reading Mode enables a distraction free reading experience, allowing users to LookUp words quickly, whether they’re reading a physical book or reading online. It exposes key LookUp actions to the iPhone through Live Activities, so users can quickly access recently searched words, and functions such as Search and Scan Words through the device’s Lock Screen or Dynamic Island whenever they want.
To start using Reading Mode:
1. Launch LookUp on an iOS 16.1 and above iPhone
2. Tap on the Search Tab and then tap Reading Mode.
3. Pick the time you’d like to read for, and tap “Start Reading Mode”

Sharing: New sharing controls make it easier for people to share words with friends, and with Shared with You on the latest version of iOS, the app surfaces words that your friends share with you, in an easy to access shelf in the Search tab.
Notes: Notes is a great tool to store quotations, personalised definitions (these could be in their own native language to better understand the context) and images that better explain the word to the people. It enables people to personalise the word in the way they want.

Introducing LookUp 5!
This version of LookUp brings the following changes:
1. Enhanced Definitions: With our new dictionary source, Not only do you get more content when you search for a word, you also get better quality of definitions as well! Example Sentences, Domains, Usage, Technical Notes are just some of the new enhancements to LookUp search.
2. Siri Support: You can now access LookUp’s Word of the Day from Siri. But not only that, users can also ask Siri to show up their Recent Search, or even LookUp items from the universal clipboard.
3. Collections: Organise words in groups and access them at any time with ease. Collections can be used to prepare term lists for exam preparation, for saving words for future reference, etc. Each collection can have its own Siri Shortcut you can access it with ease at any time.
4. Cloud Syncing: With LookUp 5, your liked words and collections will all sync across your iOS devices
5. Design Enhancements: With LookUp 5, we’ve redesigned the app to be more delightful and easy to use. We’ve also updated our definition text to display each definition with carefully crafted typography that uses different typographic features to make your reading experience more comfortable. With Smile to Like, you don’t need to press a button to like the word. Just smile at it, and the word is liked!
Smile to Like is an optional interaction which can be turned on from the settings menu when you search for a word. We’d love to hear your feedback on this update! Do you enjoy using Smile to Like? Are there more gestures which you’d like to see in the app?

Introducing LookUp 4
With LookUp 4, your favourite dictionary just got better! We heard your feedback and improved the design and performance of the app, but we didn’t just stop there, we added some really cool features to the app that we think you’ll love to use.
Look Around : Using Neural Networks and Machine Learning, Look Around allows you to augment your reality by recognising objects around you. Look Around can recognise objects from ~1000 categories, including various food items and animals. Point your phone to an object and LookUp presents its meaning to you. It’s that simple.
Image Drop: If you’re on an iPad, you can also drop an image into LookUp, and the app will recognise its dominant object and define it for you. Got an image of an animal but would like to know more about it? Just drop it into LookUp!
Drag and Drop Support: Along with Image Drop, you can also drag and drop text to and from our iPad app. If you’re working on a college report and would love to quote LookUp’s definition, just drag it out into your writing app. You can also drag out LookUp’s image results and links to Wikipedia.
Personalisation: You can now personalise your LookUp experience with the ability to change the font, font size and the theme of your app. Instead of just being able to switch between a light and dark mode, LookUp also offers the ability to adjust the theme based on the time of the day or the ambient light. This has been one of the most requested features for LookUp, and we’re really excited to present it to you!
