About LTE Finder

Which iPhone 5 or iPad is right for you? LTE Finder helps you see who has LTE where you need it!

LTE Finder quickly & easily compares AT&T and Verizon's LTE Networks!

This is a special free LTE-only version of our hit app 'Coverage?' intended to provide travelers with a powerful tool for tracking down the nearest fastest bandwidth.

'LTE Finder' provides an at-a-glance, "universal", area overview, cellular LTE coverage map by interactively overlaying Verizon & AT&T's coverage areas. And for AT&T - know where you're getting true LTE 4G service, and not just HSPA+ displayed as 4G (if you see your AT&T device display '4G' and it's not on these maps, more than likely it's HSPA+, not LTE).

'LTE Finder' focuses on helping you select the right 4G carrier for your needs - as well as knowing where you can find the fastest mobile bandwidth across the USA.

** Know before you go: Avoid having to check each provider's coverage map individually to know where you're most likely able to keep connected in your travels.

** No internet needed: All coverage maps are stored locally, so you can check where coverage is most likely even when you have none.

*****************
Want to compare more? Check out our full app, Coverage? which provides maps for all carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint & T-Mobile) and for all their data speeds - LTE, "4G", 3G, 2G and Roaming. It also features a search tool and is updated more frequently.

'Coverage?' is the ideal tool for those who travel and need to keep connected.

----------------

FAQ:
Q: My AT&T phone is displaying 4G service, but LTE Finder shows there's no LTE service - what's up?
A: AT&T has recently convinced handset makers to display their HSPA+ network (which was previously considered 3G) as 4G. LTE Finder only displays LTE, not HSPA+ (download our free '4G Finder' app if you want both - or our full Coverage? app for all coverage types) - helping you know where you're getting the fastest service.

Q: Why aren't the maps more detailed?
A: We can only include so much map detail in an app small enough to be downloaded wirelessly!

Q: What makes 'LTE Finder' unique?
A: There is no other tool out there that allows you to overlay coverage maps from all the major carriers. We have done the labor intensive work to create aligned, standardized interpretations of each carrier's reported coverage.

----------------

Note that the maps in LTE Finder are our own proprietary interpretations of the coverage reported by each carrier. You should not rely on the maps in LTE Finder to be perfectly precise or comprehensively up to date, though we intend to periodically update them (our full Coverage? update tends to be updated more frequently).

We can of course make no promises as to where you'll *actually* get signal. The goal of LTE Finder is to give you an indication of where you're most likely to catch a wave, not provide neighborhood level precision.

So… Got Coverage?

All carrier maps completely refreshed and updated for the entire USA. AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile all continue to turn on new LTE markets, while Verizon seems to be slowing down.

We continue to manually mark T-Mobile LTE markets with a purple star, as their own maps don't visually make a distinction between 3G/HSPA+/LTE at regional zoom levels.

4G Finder has also been optimized for the new 64-bit A7 processors found in the iPhone 5S, iPad Air and Retina iPad Mini.

As usual, your reviews in the App Store and telling your friends about the Coverage? line of apps (including 4G Finder & LTE Finder) help us reach new customers. These free & frequent map updates are entirely funded by new sales of the full version of this app - Coverage?. We greatly appreciate your support & enthusiasm!

iOS 7 was released while we were in the midst of our latest map update, and we fell in love with the fresh new UI. So much so that we got a bit carried away with this release - and refreshed the user interface and icon to look awesome under iOS 7!

Never fear - iOS 6 is still supported too, though this will likely be the LAST release that supports iOS 5.

As usual, we have completely refreshed Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile coverage maps. Why? Because you can't stop progress. Or at least the spread of awesome fast bandwidth to us ravenous data consumers. More! More!

If you appreciate these frequent and free updates, please update your reviews in the app store - and tell your friends about the joys of 'Coverage?' too!

PS: We also reduced the amount of advertising in this latest version. Ads are ugly - we wish we could get rid of them all!

Despite our own adventures breaking down on the side of the road in one of the few places with NO data coverage on any carrier, we still managed to get a map update out.

Why? Because we love you.

Now leave us a review and tell us you love us too. :-)

Because we love you, we have rushed out a quick new update featuring T-Mobile's brand new LTE coverage zones (indicated by purple 'stars' - as T-mobile's own maps don't show the coverage yet.).

We've also updated the other carrier's maps - wow, they keep rolling out the coverage!

Like such quick updates? Tell us how awesome we are in an app store review, and tell your friends too!

Completely updated maps: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile

Notes on this update:

- T-Mobile has started rolling out their LTE, however they are not reporting this specifically on their maps. We are indicating the markets where there is LTE with a dark purple star.

LTE Finder updates updates have remained free to existing customers, and are funded entirely from new sales of the full version of this app, Coverage?. Coverage? included map layers in addition to just LTE - including 4G (HSPA+/WiMax), 3G, 2G and Roaming for all four of the carriers. If you enjoy this app, please consider purchasing the full version and/or leaving a review for LTE Finder on the App Store. Thank you!

Massive map update including:

- All carriers: AT&T, Verizon, Sprint & T-Mobile
- Return of full resolution T-Mobile maps
- Clearer edge boundaries on all maps
- Subtly faster performance of coverage map loading

We have been working behind the scenes to improve our map creation techniques, and this is our first experiment with trying a 6-week update cycle. We continue to try to find the right balance between keeping the app updated and the amount of effort required to update the maps and get through the approval process.

Thank you for your continued support and patience!

URGENT NOTE: DO NOT UPDATE!
Somehow in Apple's review process, the maps included in this new update to LTE Finder have been removed.

(They are there in the version we submitted to Apple, but missing from the newly approved download?!?!)

We are contacting Apple to diagnose what happened, and preparing a new update ASAP to fix this issue. Please stay tuned.
