We have of course been tinkering in the background to make sure our app is functioning in tip top form, but this update is all about bringing back a highly requested feature. Yes, swiping articles is back! You can now open an article, swipe left and read the next article, or swipe again and again, there is no end to the swiping fun one can have, oh… and we even track your position in the home feed, so when you are done reading, we’ll put you right back in the feed at the last article you looked at, Nice! Stay tuned, as we have much more in the pipeline.

This update is mostly a bug fix release, just stuff we have tinkered with, and things we have adjusted, all of which are too boring to talk about, but, rest assured they will make your experience marginally better... every little helps as they say. Although, if you do love an account creation process, then we have done some UI/UX work to make those much slicker and those things you can see.

We’ve also fixed a few crashes that were being reported when getting to the end of an article and when opening the app.

We have another release for you that goes a long way to improving the experience in our App. If you used a larger font size in articles and found the app was crashing because of it, then that should happen no more, we squashed that bug! We also improved our comment count, and even added Google Sign in, so you can use the same account on our website and in the app too. For our puzzle lovers, we have an all new puzzles screen to make finding them much easier. We have some exciting things on the horizon so stay tuned for more.

This update is all about fixes.

A small number of our users who use their account across more than one of our apps, have logged in only to see their saved topics all go missing, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We are sorry this happened, and we have fixed that bug to make sure it doesn’t happen in future - You can head to the My News tab to set those up again.

We have also fixed a number of visual elements and things behind the scenes to improve the experience.

We have a small update for all our readers, and it is quite an important one. Did you notice we hadn't made it clear how many free articles you get per week? Yes, we did too, and we humbly apologise.

In light of this, we have updated the messaging to make it more clear, and also included a reset timer, once you reach your limit, to let you know when you get access to free articles again.

We also fixed a couple of Dark Mode UI bugs and some other fixes behind the scenes to keep things ticking over nicely.

We have a much cooler update coming, but for now, mums the word on that one.

We would like to say we are back with a bang for this release, but for most of you, this is just a mere maintenance release that fixes some bugs, and has some behind-the-scenes updates… you know, the yawn-inducing stuff. However, for those of you who love a full-screen image, then we have an all-new gallery experience just for you! Galleries now offer thumbnails of upcoming images, and have more gesture controls, among other cool things for you to enjoy while you pinch and zoom!

We fixed that annoying iPad crash some users experienced when you rotated the device whilst reading an article. We have also updated some behind-the-scenes logic that fixes some minor UI/UX issues and squashed a few more bugs for good measure. This is a quick release that fixes a bug for our Subscribers. As a subscriber did you notice that after you restarted the app, ads were showing again? We hunted down this nasty bug, vanquished it, and now everything is as it should be. We apologise to all our loyal subscribers for any inconvenience caused while we fixed the issue. As always, let us know if you spot anything wrong in the app using our in app ‘Feedback’ feature in the My Account tab.

This update is small but significant. Firstly we have fixed more bugs, especially around stability. We also carried out some important maintenance in the background to make sure things run smoothly without issues.

It’s not all developer fun, this release also sees our Long Read articles get a lick of paint, they have been spruced up to show a bit more gravitas to the content.

Although not a big update this time, the team are hard at work on some very big app changes coming down the line. We can’t wait to show but until then, happy reading.

This update is about fixing some annoying bugs that some of our users have been experiencing. These include, and are not limited to… Not being able to post a comment, not being able to view comments, and the app crashing unexpectedly.

We have also fixed quite a few other bugs here and there as well.

This one is a big release! Not only are we back with new features, but we fixed some annoying bugs too, here are the highlights:

Discover is under going a make over, and in this release sees the first of some new UI changes. Your followed authors and tags are displayed in a whole new way to make discovering new articles even easier. This is just the first step in a bunch of updates that we have coming for Discover in future.

We have also fixed a bunch of bugs including one for iPad, which puts the close icon back in its rightful place after it went walk about. Also you can no longer include spaces in your Display Name for commenting, and we have fixed a bunch of other smaller UI and code bugs to give this release its well earned 8.2 release number.

This release is an important one. This will be the last release for iOS13, it was a tough decision to make, but in order to advance the app we need to move to new technologies that aren’t available for iOS13. To continue receiving future updates with all new features and more, please update your device to iOS14 or above.

So for this final iOS 13 supported release:

- We have an all new navigation style that pins to the top of the view when you scroll… it's really rather lovely!

- We have a new large article preview format, for our first top story on iPad. This we think, uses the space better and we hope you like it.

- We have added new topic recommendations into top stories, so you can see what else is going on in other news that might interest you.

- And of course, we fixed a bunch of bugs, made more optimisations for speed, and completed some UI updates for good measure.

We have some really cool updates in the pipeline, so keep an eye out for more, and remember - to download them you will need iOS14 or above.

Here is a mighty fine maintenance update that resolves some issues a very small group of users were seeing.

Have you been logged in and tried to view the comments, only for them to simply not appear? If you did, then we believe that annoying bug has now been fixed. We also fixed some other minor issues and cleared out a few cobwebs.
