About MatchUp Tennis & Pickleball
Need a helping hand to organise your social doubles, round robin, team challenge matches or a knockout event? MatchUp is simple to use but with sophisticated features for those who need it. Originally designed for tennis, MatchUp works just as well for pickleball, badminton, table tennis, padel, and in fact, any game involving social doubles, round robin, team challenge & knockout events. The go-to app for all organizers and clubs, large and small.
* PLAYERS/TEAMS
Easy to add/edit players/teams/pairs & move between groups (grades)
Record email address and phone number for ease of communication to all or selected players
- Just set switch ON when available to play
Tap the pause button if player wants to opt out for a round during social doubles
Filter on selected (and non-selected) players
* SOCIAL DOUBLES ... you decide & update at any time (as players come and go):
- on the number of rounds
- on the number of courts

* ROUND ROBIN
- Doubles: partner with all other players once, oppose all other players twice within the same group (number of players in a group must be divisible by 4, with the exception of groups 5 & 9 where each player will have a bye)
- Singles/Teams /Fixed Pairs: all-play-all once (with a bye where there is an odd number of players)
- Mixed Doubles - partner with each player in the other group
- Repeat the cycle up to 4 times
- Option to include playoff elimination for the top 2, 4 or 8 players/teams for singles/teams/fixed pairs.
* TEAM CHALLENGE - matches between two teams (groups)
Select two teams to play against one another.
-Doubles: partner with all other players in your team once. Play against every player in the other team
- Singles/Fixed Pairs: play against every player/pair in the other team once (with a bye where there is an odd number of players)
* KNOCKOUT
Create a single elimination knockout tournament for up to 32 players/pairs/teams
Option for a consolation bracket for 1st round losers
*EXTERNAL DISPLAY
Display the match schedule, countdown time remaining, leaderboard or a club message to an external display (eg TV/monitor). These views have been optimized for the large screen. Note: connectivity requires Airplay2, Apple TV or Lightning AV adaptor
OTHER FEATURES:
- All matches can be saved
- Scores can be recorded
- Points can be awarded for each saved event - flexible points system
- The Leaderboard will show who is winning, based on the points allocation. Sort by total points, match ratio or win count
- A Combined Leaderboard can be displayed to show results from multiple saved events
- Players & Matches can be exported and shared with MatchUp on another device or with another MatchUp user
- A report can be generated and shared/printed
- Match countdown timer
- Easily check to see how many games each player has been scheduled for, who has played with who & which rounds (if any), the player has been 'on the bench'
- Customize venue/events and group descriptions/types
- CSV extracts for loading to myDUPR
Some features are only available via In-App Purchase . The Free version allows for up to 15 players/teams. The Organizer Plus version increases the limit to 50. The Club Pack has unlimited players.

This update includes changes to the external display and 'up next' format options, plus some bug fixes.
External display:
- now includes the option to display a banner at the foot of the Matches views to provide useful information to the players (use External Display Settings to update).
- allow auto refresh of the matches view when match is updated (use External Display Settings to update) - the latest round will be displayed if this option is selected.
- for the Up Next format, a new display option allows both the 'in-progress' and 'up next' matches to be displayed.
- countdown timer will be displayed on the Matches view if running in the app.
Up Next format:
- new option available on the Menu button to allow automatic assignment of a free court to the 'up next' match when a match is marked as completed.
External display:

* Mixed Doubles schedules added for 12, 20 and 28 players. The schedule for 12 players requires the matches to be scheduled on 2 courts over 9 rounds. For 20 & 28 players, each player will play against 1 player twice (and all other players once).

* A new setting has been added for 'Preferred Sender Email Address' for emailing of reports to participants. This will help club organizers that want to send out reports from a club email rather than their default personal email account.

There is a lot of new stuff in this version:
* New social doubles “Up Next” option in Club Pack to allow clubs to schedule the next match for players “on the bench” rather than generating rounds.
* Social Doubles has a new option to generate the next round/next match from the Matches view. No need to go back to the Draw view each time you want to add another round.
* Removed the check/alert on the number of courts where there is insufficient players to fill the number of courts selected. Set and forget!
* The number of courts can now be specified for Round Robin matches and matches will be scheduled accordingly where courts are limited.
* New option to collapse and expand the view for each match round to more easily track which round you are up to.
* Option to disable idle lock whilst using MatchUp. Use this in conjunction with Apple’s kiosk mode so players can view the draw without your device locking.
