About Max O2
MaxO2 is an application designed to estimate the VO2Max level of its users. VO2Max is the maximum amount of oxygen that is able to transported by
blood to muscle tissue and then extracted by muscle tissue from the blood. It is a standard measurement of cardiovascular fitness. The higher the VO2Max,
the more fit the individual is considered. The protocols that are followed in the application use sub-maximal exercise to estimate the maximal oxygen
consumption (VO2Max). The user is required to enter their age, weight, and sex into the application prior to running the protocols. Each protocol
guides the user through a moderate exercise session and asks the user to enter data during and/or after the session which is used to calculate the
estimated VO2Max. MaxO2 allows you save your measurements and graph them over time seeing changes in your fitness level.
The protocols in this application are based on sub-maximal fitness tests. More information on these protocols is widely available on the internet
as well as the formulas used to calculate the results. Numerical VO2Max values produced by the app are classified by Digital Kinetics as Low,
Normal, or Excellent and the classifications are based on the athletes age and sex. Other classifications guides are also available on the internet.
DISCLAIMER: Consult a physician prior to participating in any exercise program including using the protocols in this application. It is recommended that a partner be used to enter data in the application so the athlete being tested is not distracted. A distraction could cause
injury. Digital Kinetics assumes no responsibility for any health complications or injuries that may occur while exercising using this application. Please be aware that you are at your own risk.
